So the last item of garage furniture aim hasn't turned to but is due in 10 days. Supposed to have been here in December... Global pandemic, yada yada yada. Started work on the MINI. Much more comfortable and much nicer lighting now. An ex-profesional mechanic have me a few told recently so...

Finished building the furniture I have. I made a couple of wooden legs and mounted the worktop. Where the bike is there is a set of draws I am expecting at the start of January (!) for delivery. Wanted to order now before prices go up even more so was happy to wait. Problem is, the back boards...

My builder friend always used to cut things in my garage as it's 'just a garage'... Always fun getting the wood dust out of the ramp, tool boxes, etc.

The replacement LED driver turned up yesterday. Had a message from them the day before to say they were just sending another one out. No fuss and no quibble, which was nice. Have it fitted and and the lights are now working. Not much I'm the way of shadow, but I don't have a very in there. I...

The grinder was like this one: https://www.hirestation.co.uk/tool-hire/Building/Floor-Grinder-Hire/130040/. Included the transformer and I didn't need to pay anything else for block/wear etc. I bought 600mm panels from ledpanelstore.co.uk...

@dangti6 The wall colour was a custom mix at the local paint shop so don't know the brand or color name. not even a label in the can to identify it. Thye could basically mix up any paint with any base paint they had, so was cheaper than B&Q. I had the floor grinder from Brandon Tool hire. Its...

Supposed to cut the floor tiles with a jigsaw or a hand saw. Friend had a better idea as he had better tools to make shorter work of the cuts. Skirting is 10mm at the top and 5mm with a gap at the bottom. Used the floor tile offcuts to reinforce the gap so any strikes or clumsy kicks are less...

Bonnet hung on the wall and lights fitted now 6x4000 lumens makes it pretty bright. Not getting too many shadows and going to hook up a pair of dimmers to control the brightness.

Fits well... anything will fit anything else as long as you own an angle grinder! Custom engine mounts are only 2" wide and they barely move. To change the cam belt it is an engine out job. To change the aux belt I remove the side engine mounts and tilt it to get the clearance for the belt.

Can't wait to see the MOT for something like that! Usually with cars they go after 2 years, but the blue MINI has just been something else. Not sure it will ever actually be finished.

It was 'just' a respray, but with lockdown and the car not quite back together I took her apart even more. Carpet out, jet washed, repaired, as I had the carpet out I decided to fit an amp under it, so pulled the internal plastics so I could wire it in. As they were out decided to fit new...

Thanks. The blue MINI I have had since it was two years old. I dismantled it last year for a full respray shortly before we were due to get married. Wedding was canceled as country went into lockdown 2 days after the expected date so I didn't bother getting it back together and used it as an...

The bikes usually live in the shed in the garden, but I am thinking of an electric winch and platform to put them high up in the ceiling. Will need to see how it might work for shadows form the LED panels if they are in the ceiling, and they would need to be accessible even if a car is on the...

I had the car resprayed last year and needed a new bonnet/hood, so I've prepared the old one to go high up on the wall.

I used a floor grinder to get the floor a bit smoother for the new flooring, and an airless paint sprayer to get the painting done. I hate painting at the best of times and these blocks always look terrible with a roller or brush, but I am happy with the finish. LED surface mounting frames in...

So the renovation took a couple of years to do. At one point we had half the lower side wall and all the lower back wall removed and propped up and I could look outside through a gap between where the floor ended and the wall started along the bottom of our bedroom floor. At one point the...

Long time lurker.... About 10 years ago we bought a house in poor condition to do some major work on, with a view to always put a decent garage on the side (decent sized by UK standards anyway). The house itself was built in 1940, and we bought it off the sons of the first owner 10 years ago...
