I don't think it will come out easily or without at least destruction of the trough. I don't think it is fully encased in concrete, it seem like 3 or 4 inches of concrete slab around it and gravel below that - so the bottom half or so is surrounded by gravel.

I have the one on the bottom right - hang my gas powered weed Wacker on it. It is screwed into a stud. Also sometimes hang coiled extension cords on it with the weed Wacker. Had it for several years seems pretty robust.

There have been numerous threads about floor coatings that did not cure properly causing odors and symptoms. Many newly coated floors taken out. May want to get air tested for VOCs if none of the other suggestions pan out.

I like the idea. The concern that comes to my mind is - if u are relying on solar heated fluid, it is only warm during the day/when there is sun. Would you create a problem of melting enough but then refreezing at night and actually making an icy situation/worse situation?
