    Cordless Trimmers

I went from a Toro gas trimmer to Ego about a year ago. Have about 2/3 acre. Love it. Can do a quick trim and not smell like exhaust. Works well.

RIDGID LIFETIME WARRANTY DIDN'T WORK FOR ME. I have four battery chargers and five batteries that don't work and Home Depot and RIDGID DOES NOTHING

If you register the batteries when you buy them, they replace them. I just had one replaced that was probably 10 to 14 years old. You go on the LSA website, the provide a shipping label and you send it in. I will admit their processes and websites have been subpar over the years. They have...

    Kushlan cement mixer

I have one. Used it for well over 100 bags this spring/summer. Held up fine. Did seem like unmixed/dry parts hung out in the back. I would shovel everything forward and turn on for additional mixing. I only did 4 50 lb bags at a time and that really seemed as full as i wanted for trying to...

    Dishwasher leak protection.

Mine leaked from the bottom/pump at about 10 years old. Still worked otherwise. Luckily enough water came out and we noticed it. I wouldn't put it in the not something to worry about category.

Anyone here done solar panels on roof? Pros? Cons? Is it worth it?

I feel the same way. A solar salesman came to my door a couple weeks ago. The system they were selling did not do anything with batteries just power offset and back to grid. I asked him about batteries for back up. He said get a standby generator installed and said he would hook me up with a...

Propane grill opinions. Ours needs to be replaced

My experience with Weber has been great. Mine is going on 13 years old. I did get some parts under warranty and found the company good to deal with. Use it a few times a week when weather is good. Never been covered or stored inside (In sw PA).

Trench Drain - any repair ideas?

Thanks for everyone's input. I have not had a lot of time to really think about it. It does seem like anything other than a full replacement will be temporary (some longer than others) but would buy some time to procrastinate. I suspect, like a car, some of the rust through is coming from the...

Trench Drain - any repair ideas?

I don't think it will come out easily or without at least destruction of the trough. I don't think it is fully encased in concrete, it seem like 3 or 4 inches of concrete slab around it and gravel below that - so the bottom half or so is surrounded by gravel.

Trench Drain - any repair ideas?

Wanted to see if there are any ideas for repairing a rusting/rusted out trench drain or if tearing out/replacing is only real solution. I have a trench drain that runs across the front of my garage. Although it is only about 12 years old, it is rusting pretty badly and has one section that has...

    Advice on shed permit

My uncle had a friend who built a shed on railroad tracks and moved it back and forth occasionally. Apparently this worked for his township "permanent structure" rules. He also painted his house green because "green houses" were not subject to taxes. It actually went to court and he won...

LED lights, would think they should last much longer

I have had many many led bulbs fail in the less than 1 year to 2 year time frame. Many in areas with low use. Various brands including better brands. Most are the BR style bulbs in recessed cans. So I guess heat could be an issue. But if they are making bulbs shaped for cans, they should...

Need ideas! Let me see them...

I have the one on the bottom right - hang my gas powered weed Wacker on it. It is screwed into a stud. Also sometimes hang coiled extension cords on it with the weed Wacker. Had it for several years seems pretty robust.

Help! Garage is making me and family sick

There have been numerous threads about floor coatings that did not cure properly causing odors and symptoms. Many newly coated floors taken out. May want to get air tested for VOCs if none of the other suggestions pan out.

    Heated Driveway

I like the idea. The concern that comes to my mind is - if u are relying on solar heated fluid, it is only warm during the day/when there is sun. Would you create a problem of melting enough but then refreezing at night and actually making an icy situation/worse situation?
