I did stainless 1/4-20 rivnuts with it on my Alu-Cab tent and it really didn't seem to struggle - so at least anecdotally, it doesn't seem limited to brass.

For what it's worth, I think most service truck mechanics have hydraulic oil and/or brakleen on literally every single thing in their truck most of the time. Hard to stay clean in the field.

I actually use a Snap-On mini pry bar with a small hammer as a chisel to knock beads of weld spatter out of small crevices really often. Just feels like the right tool for the job. I'd probably use one with a striking cap if I had it.

I'm really partial to my old Snap-On shears, PDS3. I love the smooth lines and shape, the simple trigger, and the blasted finish. It has aged really well, and is definitely one of the most beautiful tools I own. Still snips aluminum well too :)

Snap-On SPS10A will fit the 1/2" ones with a bit of slop. For 1/4", a Wing Nut socket will fit, like the Koken ones

Dude, just use a torque wrench. If it's that big a deal, buy a handful of those Quinn ones at Harbor Freight that are preset to a certain torque and you just leave them like that. Torque sticks are dumb.
