What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I decided that since I just replaced all of the bearings, races and seals on a friends double axle trailer, that I should at least replace the seals on my single axle trailer and repack the bearings.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I "helped" a friend change out the bearings, races, and seals on a dual axle trailer. The trailer couldn't be brought to my garage, and my friend has never done this type of work before. So it took a couple of hours to check the original bearings, source the parts and then complete the work

    Zero Turn Recommendations

I agree. Two acres on a zero turn in Omaha Nebraska should require less than 35 hours per year of total mowing time. Considering a descent residential mower should last 1000 hours with proper maintenance, we are looking at using the machine for the next 3 decades. That being said, I would put...

Yes, friendships can become strained if you are more capable than your friends and have a better work ethic than they have. Luckily, all of my current friends appreciate my skill set. Good thing I don't drink alcohol or eat pizza. 😁

    Ikon ratchets lack QR feature

It is certainly not silly, I do the same thing. I use multiple: ratchets, cordless ratchets and impact guns.

I had one knee replaced 13 months and the other 5 months ago. I did the exact same thing with the timer, not only for the initial recovery, but, also later to do the physical work around my property. The timer stops resting too much, but, also stopped me from overdoing things too early...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I did the rear brakes on my neighbor's LS430, this morning, after doing the front brakes Thursday evening. Toyota wheels on a Lexus. They actually didn't fit on the front without wheel spacers, and of course longer studs. The "good deal" he got on the wheels was offset by the additional...

I succumbed to the peer pressure and the sale on Amazon. However, I am fully committed, as I immediately discarded the packaging.

    Ikon ratchets lack QR feature

I agree Rusty nuts and bolt heads go well with locking extensions and quick release ratchets.

    Ikon ratchets lack QR feature

The answer is to have both quick release ratchets along with locking extensions and universals, but, also have standard ratchets.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Wet sand with 2000 grit, then 3000 grit, then compound, usually I polish next and use a ceramic coating but last night I experimented with this graphene 1 & done, and then the graphene top coat. I use the little yellow sanding blocks with the sandpaper...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

At least the intake manifold on that car is right in the front of the engine. No reaching around back on that job. 👍 I did a front brake job on a LS430 last night. Easy peasy, but, I spent more time cleaning; the caliper, caliper mounting surfaces, hub face, and the back of the wheel. The rust...

Heat is definitely the solution to red thread locker and rust.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Supervising is my day job. I feel more comfortable with myself when I stay busy and productive. I see too many men who slow down or retire and watch television or videos on the Internet and become useless. I don't want to go down that path. Besides, I seem to heal relatively quickly (for my...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I struggled to put tires on my buddies Jeep last night. I did a front brake job on it, including new calipers and hoses. I thought it was the 35" tires, or the fact that I am in my early 60's, but, I am blaming it on the right elbow surgery I had 7 weeks ago and the PICC line I had in the left...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

This was just going to be spark plugs on my buddies kids 2009 Camry. 180,000 miles and they might be the original plugs. A new valve cover gasket seemed like a good idea. I am tempted to start giving classes on basic car maintenance, like I did with my own children.
