    Michigan gym/Harley garage starts NOW

At the many quotes of around $10k for a new slab and what my city considers a “rat wall” there is zero incentive to start fresh. Especially when I could put the place up for sale any day due to work demand and relocation. The floor will be covered in race deck tiles and the entire building...

    Michigan gym/Harley garage starts NOW

After talking to a few block guys, i settled on one and have them going 2 6”wide blocks high. Here’s the style, not color or size that will be going up.

In short not at all. Fire chief joked that from that day forward he’d leave all equipment in the driveway to cool down before going back in the garage.

    Michigan gym/Harley garage starts NOW

Yes it would, it will already be a 14’ wall. I don’t necessarily need height, only hoist will be for motorcycles. I would pour a new bigger slab behind this ones since it’s ratty-ness matches the driveway if it wouldn’t cost $10k-ish and I planned on living here forever.

    Michigan gym/Harley garage starts NOW

Demo DONE! Seriously contemplating having a block or two added to the perimeter on top of the slab to raise/waterproof. Not sure if that’s even logical or if it would need a new foundation. Started to snow a bit today, I ride daily until the snow sticks. Hopefully that’s after the building is up!

    Michigan gym/Harley garage starts NOW

A little over a year ago my trusty weed whacker ignited a slight blaze in my garage after I closed up for the day. 15 minutes after closing the door and getting into the shower my neighbor came into my house screaming that the garage was on fire, he not only had me naked in front of him but a...

    Best tool that never existed

Never would that fit into the places I require the pick. The funniest part would be using the pick to release the safety tab, setting it down and using these pliers to press the tab down LOL I don’t have the fingernails required for the safety tabs However if I do use pliers, and they’re dual...

    Best tool that never existed

Being a GM tech I carry a 90deg pick all day every day because all of the new electrical connectors safety tabs are so tough it’s easier to get under them with a pick vs pushing with your fingers. After years of inadvertent ****** piercings I had the Snap-On man replace the blade on a SDD224...

    Never owned MATCO before

Except matco will warranty these gearwrench ones just as fast as the ADV off his own truck. I haven’t had a matco guy in 10 years that carried a ADV or formally silver eagle socket set unless it was in the flyer. They would rather sell you the “real” stuff they have on hand when you need it.

    Never owned MATCO before

That’s a Taiwan made set that’s just rebranded matco from gearwrench who are also under the same parent company. You can get the Deep AND shallow set for nearly $100 less than just the shallow set from matco. Oh and 5 more shallow sockets too. Gearwrench is replacing those PIN sockets with their...

    tell me about flap discs

40grit to removed welds, 120 to finish a surface. The Walters are pretty awesome and i use 4.5” or 5” on a metabo. ABN 2” discs off amazon are nice for the coin but I’m spoiled and all consumables from work are free and we get 3M Cubitron for flaps and cutoff wheels. Sent from my iPhone using...

Snap on krcs46 mod thread .

Re: Snap on krsc46 mod thread . Modded my 246 to accept a BOLT brand lock cylinder that accepts my GM center cut key and cut and bent up a new latching arm. I hate having a bunch of keys in my pocket. The new cylinder is quite a bit bigger than the original Snap-On one, I took a piece of round...

Any experience with cargo carriers on back of a compact SUV?

I used a harbor freight cargo carrier a lot with my old Jeep JK. I had to use an extension to get it past my 40” spare tire. I used two action packers on the bottom using swag off-road Baja bin mounts and a cooler strapped on top of those. The space created under the spare tire and between the...

    Anti-seize opinions.

Many mfg make a spray can of anti seize now, it is much less of a mess besides overspray! I commonly use LONG stainless hardware with a nylon lock nut to fasten a part at work, without anti seize the two gall up instantly before it gets tight and you have to break the fastener. Sent from my...
