    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT 1950s Craftsman Garage retro remodel

Sure. It's very basic, but the two tone paint idea I got from your thread, and building a closet for the floor jack and other car maintenance stuff really brightened things up.

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT 1950s Craftsman Garage retro remodel

@Red Leader, Great to see you back!!! Several years ago, I read through your thread and liked your garage so much, that I decided to drop everything, fully clean out my garage, and paint it two tone. Top is similar beige to yours, and bottom 1/3 done in something similar to Jack Olsen green...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Dragged the ancient Norco bike out of the shed and into the garage, popped on a new chain and tires, adjusted some stuff, then headed out to the Valley to take it for a spin.

Hi @Krfjkm A cheap set of amazon canvas stretching pliers and a staple gun, along with a couple of youtube videos did the trick. Wrapping the sides of the canvas around the frame and stapeling into the back of the frame was easy. Folding the corners neatly took a few tries.

It’s always alarming to find out that something one still considers fairly new, is starting to be consider by others to be a classic. That happened to me today when I came across an article noting my wife’s BMW as “maybe the last great, small BMW sporting coupe”. It just doesn’t seem that...

I recently made a simple stretcher frame for a canvas print using cheap 1x3 lumber & pocket screws. For the image, I used a poster that I had found on the ground at the only F1 race I have ever been close to. During a month long backpacking adventure around Europe, my wife & I watched the...

After our warm wet winter, I am starting to see the beginnings of some moss growing on the roof, so I grabbed the Frankensprayer, and sprayed some moss spray (Benzalkonium Chloride). Years ago I used to use a chlorine solution, but that only lasted a year or two before moss started...

I recently made my wife a warping board to help her cut warp threads to tie onto her loom. It was a fun little shop project, and my wife loves using it to wrap weaving yard around the pegs in different patterns, which when cut off, create hundreds of warp threads the identical length. It...

Hi @Krfjkm Thanks for pointing out that I should take a moment to deadhead before snapping the pic :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:. I usually do deadhead most of the flowers early in the season, but typically get tired of doing it by mid summer, just when the gardens need it the most. I am pretty much a...

This morning seemed like a good time to start waking up the first batch of our overwintered tender plants. I starting with the geraniums. In mid November, I chopped ⅔ of the top growth off a couple dozen of the geraniums (pelargoniums) with hedge shears, yanked them out of the ground, chopped...

    DIY/Wood Car Stands(Cribbing)...Let's see them!

Yup. The closer to square the better for stability, but totally square cuts into work space underneath and tripping hazards beside the car. These 16"x20" ones look super stable. When you see cars up on really high, 4' + cribbing, it is usually much closer to square and considerably wider than...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Looks very similar, but it's a vintage 50's Leclerc loom built in Quebec. Been in the family a long time. I fixed it up a few years ago which was itself a fun project.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

My wife asked me to make her a warping board. . . I asked her why would I make a warping board when most of the boards at the lumber yard are already warping? . . I got a long evil look, followed by a an endlessly long description of pegs on a rack used to wrap lengths of yarn around to get...

Just Puttering About in my tiny workshop on the weekend on a very tiny project. I ripped a rebate into an 8' 2x2, chopped some 45's, fired some finish nails in the corners, and fired brads through some plywood to make a couple of simple 7"x7" frames. Splashed the second coat of black on...

    DIY/Wood Car Stands(Cribbing)...Let's see them!

It's pretty easy to get my car up on the cribs with just two lifts of the floor jack. Nice and stable. Particularly when I jacked the back up really high to drop the engine out the bottom a few years ago.
