The Concrete Underground's Guide to Floor Slabs

Thanks mate. That sounds like a plan. I can't wait to tell my wife the good news (well for me that is) She is not sold on the garage being built, but if we are staying in this house, I need just a bit more space.

The Concrete Underground's Guide to Floor Slabs

Thanks so much LLWillysfan. This is super helpful. I was really dreading having to pour a foundation for the cost reasons. My area drains very well. I'm basically on top of a mountain.Adding that thickened section around the perimeter shouldn't be a major encumbrance regarding additional cost...

The Concrete Underground's Guide to Floor Slabs

I looked through this thread and didnt see an answer so I figure I'll ask here since LLWillysfan seems to be a font of wisdom... I am going to likely build a detached garage next year and will wait until climate is acceptable for a pour. I have been reading and looking at other detached garage...

    Old Woodstove Problem

Stop using that stove. Besides the obvious issues, it appears from the pic that neck has been repaired/re=welded before and a bad job at that. You need to get a professional in there who knows what he/she is doing and either get a new neck welded on, and or have a stove professional inspect that...

New Garage; How much Space for a Lift?

I think 4 feet would be the minimum if I was designing a garage. 4 feet infront of the lift is also minimum. I like to have my rolling tool cart near where I'm working so consider your preferences as well as your workspace needed.

Rotary Bridge Jack compatibility with BendPak

OK Sorry. So the answer is NO. A rotary RBJ will not work in a BendPak lift.

New Garage; How much Space for a Lift?

Hey man, I have a bendpak hd-7w and I fit mine into a regular 2 car garage by getting a little creative. I went all the way up to my concrete foundations on the one side and was able to get it to fit very snug in my garage. I had to actually take out a portion of my stairs in order to get it to...

    Portable or Whole House Generator

My vote is the portable Generator with the interlock kit. I have propane at my house and we lost power for 4 days. I just hooked it up and have a dual fuel 8000w generator, and it works great. I just pull it out grab the cord and the propane supply hose hook it up and I'm off to the races. I...

    LED High Bay Light Review

This thread is super helpful. I was looking into these lights for my garage. I have 12 1/2 height ceilings and was going to install them between the rafters. I was thinking 4, but I might go with 6 as I do a lot of detailing in my garage and would rather have more light than not enough.

    Ceiling configuration for new garage

Agree. Any way you can get more height now, you should do it. I only have 12 1/2 feet in mine, and I really wish I had an extra 2-4 feet. I can store my Challenger in the winter and park my wife's car under it, but I can't do the same with my Lifted GX.

Rotary Bridge Jack compatibility with BendPak

Hi all, first post here. I've lurked for a while checking out garage build threads and also got my ideas and suggestions by searching this forum when I ended up buying my Bendpack HD-7W 4 post lift. I have an opportunity to get some used, but apparently in good shape Rotary 7000 lb rolling...
