septic riser - drilling into tank for baseplate/adaptor ring?

To clarify...I've already dug the lid up multiple times since owning the home to have the septic pumped. Its a huge circular concrete lid. Sure, I can do that every few years when it needs to be pumped, but last time the lid looked like it was getting a crack....and, this seemed like a...

septic riser - drilling into tank for baseplate/adaptor ring?

thanks. Like working on an old vehicle and trying to loosen a bolt then it 'snaps' etc. I guess in age and time I try to think through a bit more (go slower) as to not create a bigger problem. Anyway, 100 degree temps this week so may wait a minute to get this in motion.

septic riser - drilling into tank for baseplate/adaptor ring?

? nothing wrong w/ the tank, being proactive when drilling 40ish year old concrete (?), why not prevent a bigger issue by putting thought in before hand - the point of the thread

septic riser - drilling into tank for baseplate/adaptor ring?

huge concrete lid you have to dig up every few years on the circular access port. riser system would replace that per post 1.

septic riser - drilling into tank for baseplate/adaptor ring?

Looking to install a septic riser. Issue is one has to 'drill' into the top of the tank to install the concrete anchor bolts which hold the adaptor ring (see pic) Our septic is prob 40 years old, we are concerned about drilling into the top of of the tank to install these bolts. Don't want to...

    Septic Tank Riser

older thread I know but am looking at installing a riser this summer. A main reason....the concrete circular lid on mine is cracked so would need replacement anyway (i planned that after the last pumping when I saw the crack). That, and lid is buried under 8-12" of dirt I need to dig out each...

new AC capacitor is different physical size, reason for concern?

Surprisingly got an email response from Mars... "The sizes were modified in early 2024." Guess I will keep the item though will install and ensure it works first. Thanks for all the input.

new AC capacitor is different physical size, reason for concern?

I thought of that...though I cannot imagine saving 3/4 cm of material is worth the time and effort etc. Its not like they're saving half the material per unit. Just makes it confusing...and from some reviews on the product I am not alone in my confusion. Thanks.

new AC capacitor is different physical size, reason for concern?

🤷‍♂️ ....thinking of working on (say) a vehicle and removing a bad part (alternator or whatnot) then the 'new' part is a different size creating a headache and a return and more time sourcing the proper part. Been there. Thanks.

new AC capacitor is different physical size, reason for concern?

Thanks. Why resize something to save 3/4 cm (?) in height.....🤷‍♂️ ...for this change, doesn't quite make sense only to confuse customers and potentially create something that no longer fits in a unit (whether its AC or something else)

new AC capacitor is different physical size, reason for concern?

Capacitor went out on home AC a week back, I swapped in one I had on the shelf. Its on the right in the image. Being proactive, I ordered a replacement to put on the shelf, same unit, Jard 12783. Only $10 so nice to have around. New item arrived and its a different size then the original. Is...

how to determine NFA for soffit vent? (Net Free Area)

thanks, though I found a 'similar' panel to mine and estimated my NFA. lots of conflicting info online, or lack of info - many soffits are sold via "what they look like" and nowhere on their product page is the NFA listed.

how to determine NFA for soffit vent? (Net Free Area)

one panel is a vented triple-5 like in first photo, then two non-vented triple 5's that flavor. Again, 70s home, not new build. Plan to pull some soffit this week to peek under and see what is going on, if stuff is blocked etc.

how to determine NFA for soffit vent? (Net Free Area)

Thanks, I see what you're saying. Its weird as all diff soffits online have diff holes etc so....was trying to match mine to something I could find like in the post above w/ video.

how to determine NFA for soffit vent? (Net Free Area)

? (L*W)/2 is the area of a triangle (?) then multiplying that by 8.5 (per row) means....what exactly

how to determine NFA for soffit vent? (Net Free Area)

I found somewhat of a match to estimate - though what is the LENGTH of the panel in the video? See image and vid at :47 I assume the 12" width is as I marked but its unclear on every manufactures website what the LENGTH dimension is from the wall of the house (f-channel) out to the fascia. Is...

how to determine NFA for soffit vent? (Net Free Area)

thanks, I did think of this but holes in diff brands are all diff sizes/designs etc etc etc so.....though its prob what I'll have to do. Thanks, yes I see 12" around town and online. One issue...if I wanted to add another vent or two, its almost an all or nothing as I cannot match what is...
