Funny 1 star Amazon tool reviews

In my decades of riding bikes with cables, I quickly learned that a household wire end cutter or diagonals just made a mess of them, fraying them badly. We used to just wind up the excess cable, to avoid the splayed ends that happened so quickly. Eventually someone found a pair of something...

    Who makes good flush cutters?

I have a pair, bought on a recommendation from here. I don’t cut zip ties often at home, but always dig to fish those out. Does a better job than the zip tie guns at work.

Here is my haul from today, a massive tool sale blocks from home. found out the homeowners partner had psssed, and apparently a handyman. Not sure who the kid was running the sale, but was probably HS age. I only had about 15 mins to look before an appointment, so ran thru, 3 Craftsman stacks...

Vintage Xcelite or other Nut Driver Sets

Here is a haul from a massive tool sale just blocks from home. Found a whole bunch of XCelite handles and bits, apparently dropped the bit for the red handle. 2x 99-2 handles, hex bits from 3/16- 3/8”, and 2x Phillips, 2x slot bits, and a 5” eXtension. Looks like these might be two separate...

Falling asleep in the floor, so this could be spotty. Henry Millward & Sons were located in Redditch England, in the 1790s to 1850s, and H Milward was there 1892-1937, and that’s good enough for Google AI to believe they were our HMM, and was located there...

Nope, I had not. But in a quick search, here is what I can tell you. Looking it up in Espacenet, the landing page for this link shows His Name as the patentee, not a company. https://worldwide.espacenet.com/patent/search/family/010190812/publication/GB497450A?q=gb497450 From this link, you...

Vintage Dymo embossing label makers - because the new ones are useless.

They look like 1970s era to me. I suspect if you were to go to Google books, and search for Dymo 1700 And it's brethren. You will probably find magazine ads for each, allowing you to pin it down.

If you don’t look at it as a square, I put rather a bevel, it seems less gimmicky. Here is a Starrett one that’s even crazier. Pages 99-101 here show more https://archive.org/details/starrett-revised-catalog-25-1935/page/99/mode/1up

Bonus comment, our dairy (and brewery) product piping was often Schedule 5, so very thin, and cutting with a hacksaw was possible.

I don't know if this matters

Wood glue is not a gap filler, nor is CA glue. They won’t add any strength, and may take dozens of applications to close a gap. Epoxy is your gap filler. Pix may help

I'm wondering if this wasn't outsourced by Sargent. At one point, they had a 1323 page catalog, and can't imagine it all made in house.
