I can see on a ratchet, but tell me on a 10 mm socket, what is the difference? I had a HF brad nailer, I got rid of it pretty fast and changed over to a bostitch. The reason, the nailer would begin to jam if left in the hot sun for a bit. SO in some tools, yeah you can tell the difference...

    My Harbor Freight Investment

Excellent point. If the wrench does not fail, how can 1 wrench vs another wrench take 5 minutes longer. The point is valid on some specialized diag tools but not basic hand tools. I'm sure if I was a mechanic reaching in and grabbing an expensive tool feels just tons better when other people...

    My Harbor Freight Investment

I do realize that HF is not the best and that the best exists out there. But a socket that costs 1 vs a socket that costs 10 dollars is hard to compare. My point is that on these forums everyone loves to bash HF or CMAN as inferior. Yes, some of there products do ****, but to spend 30k+ on...

    My Harbor Freight Investment

I have read through many of these boards and perhaps this is not the best thread for this. I am not a professional mechanic, I am a DIY'er with most of my mechanics tools being craftsman which I picked up off of craigslist. This guy has a very nice tool setup and I see the picky truck people...

The real reason, it is made in China!/India

But that is the problem. I do not know what you do, but $40/hr is a TON of money hourly. That is almost 84k/yr. That is what Electrical engineers with experience are making. Plus most of the unions I have seen have better compensation packages than that of highly educated workers. I have a...

    New Job as Tech.

And the people with the biggest investments into their jobs make the least and get crapped on the most. How much do you think the finance guy has invested into his position? When and if they fire his ***, all he needs is a cardboard box to clean out his desk. When we leave, most of us need to...

what do you think of this deal

Yeah, this is the one OC. They are truck brand speciality tools. No price to wiggle on this. It is loaded, but I did want to part it. Most of the stuff would be sets like the screwdrivers, some of the wrench sets and most of the specialty stuff. The size is a bit big, but I can actuall fit...

    solus Software version question

Is there a Solus Software version 9.1? I have somebody offering me a snap on solus with what he says is version 9.1 for 800 and I am interested in purchasing this. I know it is a fairly good deal if this the correct version. What should I look for in this unit when I inspect it?

what do you think of this deal

I saw the box today and it looked mint. It also a full drawer of pliers, a full drawer of cromwell screwdrivers, a freon sniffer, some sort of hydr. spacer, I wanted to sell off most of the tools to help offset the cost of the box. I already have a cman pro 41" wide chest and cman homeowner...

    Insurance and Tools

An umbrella policy is nice, but not necessary for just tools. An umbrella policy you can add 1 mil liability and it won't be that expensive and covers you in your house or auto. They are great policies to have, especially if you have multiple things to cover and the more to cover the cheaper...
