Here's my Dake 1-3/4

My compressor was loud as hell. I built a lean-to on the side of my shop. Insulated the heck out of it with Rockwool and now I can barely hear it when it kicks in. Best thing I ever did.

I used Behr one part epoxy on my old concrete floor. Seems to be fine.

I discussed drywall with my contractor and by the time finishing is done it’s pretty much a wash cost wise. Plus the mess from sanding is awful.

Here are a few photos of the finished exterior. Sheeted the ceiling in 1/2” pre finished birch ply. Folding stairs to the attic space.

Yeah I'm super impressed by the speed and workmanship.

Buttering up efforts are well under way :D

Some updates. Roof shingled on Friday. Four roof vents on the other side. Heat pump installed.

At the end of 3-1/2 days. Fully framed roof, sheeted and waterproof. Fascia on. Gable door is on site and ready for installation. Shingles tomorrow. I could not be more pleased.

Father and under 20 year old son team. They will have all the fascia and sheeting done by end of day today. 3-1/2 days. Completely blown away by their speed.

I'm very pleased with how it's coming together.

Nothing like that. It’s a simple 5/12 gable roof.

End of day one. They reused the old 2x8 fascia boards as the rim joists which was super smart and saves a bit on material costs. Tomorrow they plan to build the temporary support walls, remove the old beam and with luck install the new LVL beam.

Yes, rafters parallel to the joists, ridge perpendicular. I noticed that I made an error in my original post. The roof joists as 2x8s not 2x6s. I have no idea what a "large cricket" is :)

Work started today. I spent the last four days emptying the middle of the shop so they would have space to erect the temporary walls to support the roof. The plan is to basically frame the existing flat roof like a floor so it will get rim joists down the two sides then 2x bottom plates on the...
