Thanks, Reese. It's curious to me, too. Because it says use a 5/16" or bigger hex. I guess it depends on how open the chuck is? Bigger the opening, bigger the hex. You tighten the chuck around the hex (I'm guessing) and that allows you to turn the hex and take it off (?). Just guessing...
