    Changing Casters on Tool Box

I could weld up a frame. And yes it has 8” casters on it currently. My old box was in the same spot for 8 plus years and only moved to sweep underneath it. Moving it around isn’t a concern for me. Going from a box that was 43” off the ground to one that is 49” is more of an issue. I want to...

    Changing Casters on Tool Box

Just traded out my Matco 5s triple bank tool box for a lightly used Revel X with a hutch. Got a great deal on the box, but bought it off of pictures. Love the box so far, except the fact that it is a 6 inches taller than my last box. I'm 5'8" and this thing sits so high up that the back of...

Looking for 1/2” stubby impact recommendation

If you have a MAC dealer, they have a special on the 1/2" and 3/8" mini impacts for $484 for the pair. They are supposed to be the same as the Proto ones, and I have heard nothing but great things about the Proto mini impacts. Still not super cheap, but not terrible either.

    Best Hand Wipes?

We have been using Mule Wipes for quite some time. It is pretty close between them and tub o towels for me. Right before COVID locked everyone down, about every salesman that I have came through the door in about a 2 weeks span pushing cleaning towels. They were all about the same and none did...

    Air Compressor Output Questions

I thought about that, but the whole place is plumbed with the 1 1/2 pipe already so I would have to rerun a bunch of lines to the other shop.

HELP FINDING 3/8 ARMSTRONG MAXX RATCHET!!!

Which style are you looking for? Flex head or standard? I have one I might let go of for the right price. I upgraded, I believe, 88 tooth internals.

    Air Compressor Output Questions

Yes the desiccant dryer does eat a lot of air. We ended up adding another compressor to the system when we bough it, we were running out of air on the one reciprocating compressor. We have had problems in the past with the plant freezing up in the winter, without the dryer. That is why we went...

    Air Compressor Output Questions

Got ya. Thanks for your input. It’s helping me understand how much loss we may be getting. You see shops all the time with one small compressor running everything fine using 3/8 hose, that is what had me scratching my head so much. Maybe they have their compressors pumped to 175 and that is...

    Air Compressor Output Questions

You have most of that correct but the 175’ run is through 1 1/2 pipe that’s run over to the plant, doesn’t really affect the shop air but wanted to share all information. To be honest on the fitting to the 1” gun all I remember is ordering a D style fitting I believe from Napa, it is 1/2”. On...

    Air Compressor Output Questions

The flow direction is correct, the first two filters lead into the dryer and then come out of it up to the last filter then down to the 1 1/1 pipe. I have another hose reel that comes directly out of the main tank, I will hook up to that when I get some more high flow fittings in next week...

    Air Compressor Output Questions

Here are some photos of the setup. I forgot to take one on the other side of the wall where the hose reel and such are, but the one picture is the T that runs into the next shop and the 1/2” and 3/8 hose are plumbed directly into high flow fitting at the wall.

    Air Compressor Output Questions

The rotary shows max 52 cfm, no numbers next to 90 or 40 psi. The 2nd 120 tank is actually an old 15hp recip that we used to use, now just backup. I’ve got it on a 90 psi switch and it never kicks on, so the tanks aren’t draining down. I’ve looked at the regulator on the wall and it doesn’t...

    Air Compressor Output Questions

I wanted to pick the brain of some air compressor experts on this site. In my shop at work, it always seemed like air tools weren't running well, like we were running out of air. Based on our setup, there is no way we should be running out of air in the shop. We have a IR rotary UP6-15-125...

    Wright Tool Warranty

I don't believe I broke their tool, their tool failed on me. It is a 24" breaker bar that I was using properly when it broke. It's not like I was using a ratchet to try and break a bolt loose with it, I was using a 1" thick bar breaker bar.

    Wright Tool Warranty

Ok, so when I’m wrong I’m wrong and I admit it. Got a call from Wright out of the blue this morning. Missed the call, but they left me a voice mail saying they are going to send me out a new Breaker Bar when it comes back in stock. I have been buying Wright tools for a while and this...

    Wright Tool Warranty

So I’ve got a 1/2” Wright breaker bar that I broke a while back and needed to get warrantied. The store I originally bought it from closed and the the only store left in town is 45 minutes away. I had a little down time so I called their customer service about it. I was told I would have to...
