    What is this toolbox for?

My daughter pulled it out of a dumpster. The dividers remind me of a CD case.

Which toyota adapter for this brake bleeder?

I have a Mityvac pressure bleeder that works pretty well and includes the Toyota adapter. BUT, I have found I really prefer vacuum bleeding for routine fluid replacement. I use an 8-quart oil extractor. The pressure bleeder still works for stubborn caliper replacements and that sort of thing...

    Quickjack stuck in up position...Rust?

I'm wondering if a chainsaw bar grease gun would work on this.

    Compressed Air System Design

This is a good thread. I am planning a long skinny building, so a trunk line would cost half of what a loop does. What about dryers? At what point do we need one of those for typical auto repair use? For just me, I've gotten by with a vapor separator on the regulator, but if we step up to a...

Line wrench or Box-end for brake bleeder fittings?

6 point only. They are not "made" to be that tight, but often they are.

    Compressed Air System Design

Scaling this idea up a bit, If one were to run two compressors, how would you set that up? Would one have a higher kick-on point? Would they need check valves?

    Vacuum Extractor Pump Suggestions?

All of my Mityvac stuff has been disappointing in quality, except for the actual hand-pump traditional "mityvac" mityvac. The fluid extractor leaks and uses ****** rubber hose connectors. The ATF filler uses ****** hoses that get hard when exposed to ATF and use proprietary fittings to it is...

    Vacuum Extractor Pump Suggestions?

The Harbor Freight one works great. I replaced a Mityvac that wore out - a replacement Mityvac pump costs more than the whole thing at HF. I use it for topside oil changes and brake flushes three or four times a week. https://www.harborfreight.com/23-gallon-manual-fluid-extractor-62643.html

Special tools or anything especially helpful for a starting out Toyota Tech.

I disagree, the new Motivx that works off the flats is amazing. The ones that grab the ears would break overtightened oil filter caps more often than not - they crack where the ears meet the cup. I have not broken a single one since I switched to the newer style Motivx...

    Quickjack stuck in up position...Rust?

Agreed. I think I am pushing 4,000 lift cycles with all kinds of cars. I've had to replace some wear items but generally they have held up well.

3 phase screw air compressor on a vfd thoughts?

I didn't know this was a thing. I am planning a new shop and ruled out rotary screw compressors because getting 3-ph will be cost prohibitive.

    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

That reminds me of one of my early "wins" when I started my car repair business. A lady called me with a BMW that kept throwing lean codes. Another shop had replaced the MAF and some other stuff and she still had a problem, and couldn't pass emissions to get her tag. She heard from someone...

    Split Beam Torque Wrench Opinions

I prefer the metal handle to the rubber grip, so I just picked up a nice older Snap On off of eBay. If you want to go new I think the PI is still metal grip in 3/8. If you don't mind the rubber grip, I love everything I have gotten from Icon.

    Electrical Terminal Release Kit Recomendations

I'm looking for tools to release electrical terminals from the connectors. 60% asian, 30% euro, 10% domestics vehicles. Ideally I want a small kit with the most used tools, I definitely do not want an amazon keyring kit with 700 different tools. Looking at something like Matco 7-piece...

    Quickjack stuck in up position...Rust?

I'll reiterate, there is either a really simple fix we are all somehow missing, or these things are scrap. A new set of frames is cheap compared to a car lift accident. No way would I consider cutting and modifying the support pivot.
