    Wanted Baldor 8100W 8" right grinder shield/guard

Just can't seem to find one. I'm looking for the outside guard, the inner part that is attached to the grinder is fine. Mine does not have the dust port. I'm also interested in both pieces if the price is right, I would need the part that has the 4 bolt pattern. Again, prefer without dust port...

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

@Tinkerer2 Ok, good, that's how I put it back together for jaw distance, but then I started to double guess myself thinking that it might be oriented the other way for stability or some other reason...

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

Getting close to finishing my restoration of this 804. I like the hammered finish to hide some of the minor imperfections. Color isn't bad either, although I would have preferred the Hammerite green, but couldn't find it locally. To anyone who has worked with one of these, do you guys remember...

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

I'm curious what others have done here too. Here's the swivel plate lock nut from the Columbian 804 that I'm restoring. Might just cut and replace this one...

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

I couldn't find it at my local Ace HW, but found it on the Home Depot site. Btw, they call it an external hitch pin. in case anyone else is searching.

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

Ah, I was thinking typical external retaining ring or an e-clip, but your suggestion might be easier. There will be some friction/tension, but probably not enough to feel, right?

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

Thanks, it's a shame it can't be reused, but I guess there are more modern reusable retaining rings that are now available. To your question, it's the same vise as yours - Columbian 804.

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

Great tip @Tinkerer2. Any suggestions on getting the retaining ring/collar for the lead screw (near the handle -- see attached pic) off and back on other than just brute force and wrangling? I didn't see it on your group of photos so maybe it was already gone when you got it?

    Rockwell 15-017 drill press holes?

Ok, thanks. I assumed it was for the light, but I hadn't actually seen one so that helps. That switch rod seems like a silly design, but maybe that's just me. Everything else looks to be over engineered, and then you have the switch that just appears to be an afterthought.

    Rockwell 15-017 drill press holes?

For the life of me, I can't figure out what these holes are for. Oil ports maybe? They appear in the parts list, but nothing is attached to them. User's manual doesn't make any reference as far as I can see, but maybe I haven't read closely enough. Also, I assume that the flange at bottom left...
