Similar yes, but not identical. That comes from our head of product engineering in Stowe, OH. There are internal differences. Save the cost of metallurgical testing, buy one of each and work with them. Then recommend the one the works/feels best for you.

Next time you get on a Matco truck, ask them to do the oil/screwdriver/torque test and see how good the flocking works when you have oily/greasy hands. Sorry the truck didn't have them in stock. I've never know them to be on back order. Odd.

I carry the Shake-N-Break on my truck. I also have a 3/8 and 1/2 version designed to use with sockets. Clients say they all work well for subborn screws, nuts and bolts. Check with your local Mato truck, or if you don't have one, PM me.

Matco and Armstrong are part of the Dannahar group. I have the Armstrong catalog on my truck and order tools for some of my clients. Their large wrenches are popular with my heavy equipment guys.

I leave all the tools on the truck. I only will allow someone I trust to service her, so no worries.

I can order clients Armstrong on my truck, and assume other Matco trucks can/will too. Armstrong is not a tool brand commonly used by/known to my mechanics, so I don't carry them in stock. Only sold one Armstrong Spud Ratchet in the last six months.

A number of my older clients like the comfort grip as it is easier for their hands to grip after years of beating. The younger guys like thin metal. I have, use and like both.
