    My hope was that I could do just that, but with something on the other side to support it (perhaps a lumber frame)? I'm not sure how I'd mount this to the framing seeing as it's not wide enough to span more than one stud. Maybe I'm missing something.

    Thanks for the welcome! It's an all steel bolt-up style building. it's framed with some pretty beefy steel beams. The mounting bracket is not wide enough to span two of the steel studs, so I'm not sure if that would work. a sub-frame might be a possibility.
