Thanks Jeff and Jaguar fan for the clarification. Now I feel a lot better using Shark grip mixed in with my epoxy. Does it matter if I will be using a solvent base epoxy? Also, does anyone have a picture of their floor with the shark grip? Sorry to be a pain, but I am a newbie when it comes...

Why not just sprinkle the shark grip on the final coat for maximum traction?

What if we are not going to use 100% solid epoxy? Can't we just sprinkle the sand on the final epoxy coat like 911eric was talking about?

This brings up another question. It seems like most of you are adding the grit into the clear coat or the epoxy before you lay it down. I thought it was best to throw the grit on top of the clear coat or epoxy once it was on the floor?

Should I have to worry about the broom dissolving in the acid? If so, what else can I use to move the acid/water mixture around?

If I buy U Coat It now and plan on doing the floors when it gets warmer (maybe Spring), should I mix the products once in a while to prevent them for separating? If it does reach 5 mills in thickness, I am fine with that since that is half a centimeter.

Good luck with it. I am glad to see some "well used" garage floors. It would be nice to epoxy it. Then you can hose everything down once in a while to clean up the whole floor and don't have to worry about water getting on the edges. I guess the alternative is to paint it, but it won't be...
