So if I read the analog meter right, the Lux Light Meter is giving you nearly the same result as the meter? I tried three different apps on my phone, two results are nearly identical, the third one is out to lunch. I really doubt I have 268 FC in the garage?

Thanks! I used the SPGX polyurea coating for the floor. It's not holding up at all though, so I would not recommend it based on my experience (which could be application error for all I know).

Thanks for all the ideas, I'll have to give it a bit of thought. I think polishing this vise is beyond my capabilities/time constraints, but a cool paint job may be interesting. For now I'll just bolt it to the workbench and use it, and hopefully an inspiration will come to me at some point :).
