The (RV Manufacturing Corp) hydraulic floor jack find

Sadly no. It's on the shelf for now, in pieces. I glance at it once or twice a month in passing, but I have come to conclude that this is a no-fix as it is. It seems that the cylinder is worn past any way I can install seals that would hold, and get the locking ring back in place without...

Young Sir Thomas, please relax. You are under no obligation to stress on our behalf. We will not be at fault for crooked switch plates or unclocked screws just because you feel you need to update us constantly! Much better if you take your time, and do it properly. Aaand perhaps powdercoat...

    Will Dewalt batteries cross over?

I know this thread is OLD, but if anyone reads it looking for ways to keep their old 18v Dewalt tools alive after finding the horrid prices on XRP batteries, I would just like to mention that I recently came across some good news. Dewalt has a 20V MAX to 18V adapter coming out. They planned to...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

Not sure if you mentioned it Thomas, and I can't determine it fully from the pictures, but just as a heads up, I would suggest using a PROPER tool for crimping the cable shoes. NOT ONE OF THESE: But rather something like this one with good jaws and a ratcheting lock (ensuring proper...

Oh and btw, if that is the price range for those cars over there, you all are hereby considered "insert-negatively-associated-word-here". Don't think one could get even a rusted-through piece-of-junk with a gazillion miles on it for those pennies here in Norway!

The (RV Manufacturing Corp) hydraulic floor jack find

Mine is still at a stand-still. Haven't been able to give this priority, but I might have a solution to the cracked cylinder-issue within reach.

Thought I'd let you all know the status, Beltsville Shell has been on summer vacation with me here in Norway, a couple of days back we took a trip to the beach nearby my place. On my way home now, all done with the book, so I'll ship it back to UK according to the flight plan as soon as I get...

The (RV Manufacturing Corp) hydraulic floor jack find

Another BTW, found this while googleing Ringueberg and Van De Mark, another jack, this one up for auction: http://131auction.net/auction/item.php?id=2232002 This one has the handle turned the same way as yours, with the release knob facing the jack. Mine has it facing the operator. Dunno what...

The (RV Manufacturing Corp) hydraulic floor jack find

Oh, btw. If you ever come around to taking the cylinder apart again, please do take a bunch of pictures. Would be nice to see how it looks on the inside on that end... Would definitively help in the grinding process...

The (RV Manufacturing Corp) hydraulic floor jack find

Nope. No progress on my part. Don't think I will either, at least not until after the summer. To much other stuff to be done during the few months of relatively dry and warm weather. Had a discussion earlier today about the jack with my colleague, we more or less agreed that the most sensible...

The (RV Manufacturing Corp) hydraulic floor jack find

Oh, completely forgot, when the bullseye knob is fully extended, the rod at the bottom is flush with its guiding pipe (didn't manage to get a full length measurement on this). Does that make sense at all? Also, the indent/cutout below the knob might not be original!

The (RV Manufacturing Corp) hydraulic floor jack find

So, a few more pics today, some with dimensions, and some just to show the general layout. Not sure about the bar across, but it looks like its meant to be there. It stops the handle from tipping more than 90 degrees. I cannot imagine the previous owner going to such lengths as to bend or form...

The (RV Manufacturing Corp) hydraulic floor jack find

Okay, so I just took a bunch of pictures with the caliper showing dimensions (in mm though), seems I have to take it apart to get some better shots, especially of the bell crank. It is slightly bent (guessing its made that way), but it is hard to show on the photos. I'll see if I can upload the...
