@Eone While most others said your Format wrenches might be Stahlwille, I honestly doubt it. The only Stahlwille thing about them is the "hollowed" out Beam. On the other hand, the finish looks wrong, Stahlwille usually engraved the sizes in the past, only recently they added them in the casting...

From what I can tell, Vigor doesn´t produce anything themselves, just putting their name on whatever is available... which can be fine. Yet I see no reason to pay the premium. I have a pick set from them, nothing special, probably a little on the expensive side for what it is. I´d consider them...

I think they are forged in China and finished in England? Don´t quote me on it, I recall reading it somewhere on the internet where someone emailed the owner.

@Pexto At least their 2020 Inventory states so. But given their inconsistency with COO (Even some sizes of the same product being made in different places) I wouldn´t be surprised for this to change.

Both Usag and Facom are made in italy

@littlebean almost correct, while the bit Adapter is indeed Koken, the sockets are made by KTC. Very affordable, made in Japan, nicely made. They are however on the shallower side.

If you´ve got time, some Cad skills as well as a 3d-printer, you could also build something along the lines of this: Especially for smaller things, this printed inlay works really well. Also nice if you like mixing between manufacturers, but still want a clean set.

@tamaraw @Odd-job I have recently ordered the same wrench, mine came in a cardboard box. It survived shipping just fine, although I´ve never had a problem with amazon jp, even when ordering pencils.

@Dave455 They do indeed feel well after working them for some time, still I doubt the flaky lubricant was supposed to "be" that way. Same goes for the cutter hole. Just an optical "defect", but I´d be surprised if that´s how it´s designed to look like.

I´ve recently received 3 of their pliers, the slipjoints and side cutters are are lovely tools. Well machined, nicely finished, if they hold up well, definitely Knipex level...

Meh, wouldn´t really agree. Might depend on local dialects, but at least in Austria there´s a audible "P" as in potato up front, and a soft "d" as in bored in the back.

I´ve recently found this ratchet, and think about restoring it to a usable condition. The internals are missing some teeth, as well as the direction switch, whoever used it previously must have switched direction using pliers... I am not a 100% certain, but i guess this ratchet was made by...

Sure it´s only like a 9€ difference. But given this price range, that´s still +45%. And if we compare it to pretty much the same pair of pliers (just different finish option), we get +70% I do think that´s a lot, given that it comes from the same factory, and is supposedly the same product...

Hazet Markup is crazy. They buy their pliers from OrbisWill (which is absolutely fine) but you overpay a lot. like literally twice as much, compared to a brand like Atorn, which sells exactly the same pliers. Oh no, they aren´t the same, Hazet sells the cheapo option (rough surface, no chrome)...

At least in europe, Wiha can occasionally be found heavily discounted, so to me that price doesn´t seem that far off. Why not look at them in person? Also, all Wiha pliers are made in Vietnam, only the screwdrivers are German.

Oplast can make some fine screwdrivers, I have a few Unior labelled ones, they will definitely do the job. And while they don´t seem to hold up as well as my PB swiss, they are much cheaper, without being all that worse. Great when working on cheap, rusty fasteners. Those Hazet look nice as...
