    Truth 3/4" ratchet disassembly

After a couple days of soaking in ATF the ratchet still spun both directions without locking. I figured the pawls are stuck so I thought I'd try tapping on the head with a hammer. Started tapping lightly at first, then harder, on the sides, and finally on the face. To my surprise, the center...

    old 3/4" ratchet disassembly

I'm in the beautifully burnt state of California. I'm letting it soak in ATF for a few days. I'll let you know how it turns out.

    Truth 3/4" ratchet disassembly

Found this 3/4" ratchet in a freebie box at a garage sale. Figured out you push the removable drive head to the other side and flip it ratchet in the opposite direction. After soaking it with Aerokroil it now moves, but in both directions, one way a little easier than the other. Feels like the...

    old 3/4" ratchet disassembly

Thanks guys. I'm not a collector and if I can get this thing working I will definitely use it. I am going to post in the vintage tool discussion.

    old 3/4" ratchet disassembly

This is the other side of the head. I soaked it for a while in Kano Aeorkroil and it now moves, but in both directions, one way a little easier than the other. Feels like the pawl is not completely engaging the internal gear. How do I move this this to the vintage forum?

    old 3/4" ratchet disassembly

Found this 3/4" ratchet in a freebie box at a garage sale. Looks to me like it should ratchet in either direction depending on which side of the handle you push drive head. I can feel it ratchet once or twice, then it gets stuck. I'd like to get this to work because its made in good ol' USA...

    Leaking horizontal band saw

I hadn't planned on changing bearings, but after disassembly I find there is no seal there with a rubber inner ring. . . just the two bearings. I figure the inner bearing must be the one that prevents the oil from leaving the housing but apparently its not because oil is getting passed that...

    Leaking horizontal band saw

Thanks for everyone's input. I was able to tap out the roll pin about a quarter inch then grab the end with vise grips and pull it the rest of the way out. Come to find out there's another bearing behind that brass gear. So the shaft passes through two bearings (a 6202LU and a 6202ZZ). Is...

    Leaking horizontal band saw

My horizontal/vertical band saw is leaking oil at the drive wheel shaft. At the wheel side of the saw I can see the shaft passing through a bearing. This is where fluid is leaking from. On the gear side of the shaft I guess I have to remove that roll pin holding the gear to the shaft and I...

    Treadmill motor controller wiring help

Yes, the control panel has up and down push buttons for speed and up and down push buttons for incline control. A ribbon cable went from that 8 pin connector up to the control panel. Do I need to open up the control panel? I really don't know what to look for. I'll open it and take a pic to...

    Treadmill motor controller wiring help

I finally got my hands on a treadmill to pull the motor and controller for use on my drill press. Its a Sportcraft treadmill, 2.25 hp motor but the controller is not the MC60 that I've been reading a lot about. I don't see where I would connect the speed pot. Can someone tell me if this...
