    Uneven bottom chords ...

    2x4 + 2x6 (1.5x9) ... I had to chop all my 2x10 (1.5x9.25) blocking to 9" because of that.

    Uneven bottom chords ...

If you wanted more context see the picture ... I already did the blocking on edge for sheet end but being a total noob I am. I cut the blocking according to gap size. I didn't want to twist the whole floor. Apprently it's fine to pull back the chord in place 😅

    Uneven bottom chords ...

Bottom chord of the attic truss. Contractor build the garage but I will install the floor. I noticed 24" OC is in between 22 3/4 to 25 3/4 range center to center. This will cause the sheet end (long side) to miss the chord. Some chords are warped and other the truss wasnt installed at 24" oc...

    Uneven bottom chords ...

What about using #10 construction screws for the sistering? I don't have a framing nailer unfortunatly. Do I have to sister the whole 2x10 ? Can I just use a 2x4 under the sheets gap?

    Uneven bottom chords ...

Hello, I am about to do the flooring on the bottom chords with 3/4 OSB tongue in groove. I noticed the bottom chord are not exactly 24" OC. Some chords are warped giving +/- 1" off center. What is the best way to deal with that? Cutting each osb to fit a particular area would be PITA...

How to insulate to R49 attic truss?

Sorry I may also been not clear as well, I'm not an expert in insulation. For the horizontal section it make sense to use cellulose. Thanks for that idea. See my previous message, 14" inch wont be necessary since I was confused that R49 to R60 insulation code is for ceiling and in my case it's...

How to insulate to R49 attic truss?

Thanks guy for your feedback... I've been brainstorming a lot of scenarios in the last days. I think my best so far would be to ignore the baffle and do my own using 2x2, 2" rigid foam R10 over it , then put 5.5" R20 batts and finally a polyethylene vapor barrier over the batts. This way I know...

How to insulate to R49 attic truss?

I need to maximize attic space since this will be an office, I can't leave it uninsulated. How do you fill the angle section with cellulose? I mean I only have 2x4 as something to staple on a barrier. I am trying to find out how to hold 14" inch thick insulation on 2x4 rafters without...

How to insulate to R49 attic truss?

Hello, My attic truss are made of 2x4 on the roof support. How can I install R49 batts on a 2x4? It is 14 inch thick and I am wondering how to hang this... Do I really need to expand the 2x4 to 2x12 with wood or there is another way? I will install roof baffle as well to let air flow from the...

My contractor screwed up my new slab. Need Help please!

If you are stupid enough to do oil change in your drain you deserve an EPA cleanup bill. I mean what do you do about cars leaking oil on the road or your driveway? I know laws exist because of these stupid people, but man I'll be careful it's my lawn and my artesian well is like 50 ft from...

My contractor screwed up my new slab. Need Help please!

I translated a part of the garage plans for you ... It cannot be clearer than this tbh. As for compensation, they are willing to discuss about if I don't like it once I've tried with my tools around the slab at the end of construction before last payment. They insist the slope will not affect...

My contractor screwed up my new slab. Need Help please!

Update ... We met at the slab (concrete guys & general contractor) and took measurement with their construction laser. The slab is within tolerance on the external diameter (+/- 1/4" in variation). The slope is 1/4 per foot at 3 feet around the drain which they told me is standard with a drain...

My contractor screwed up my new slab. Need Help please!

I would agree with you normally but there is a difference with high and low spots and a clear added slope towards a drain. I took precise measurements to prove my point against the concrete guys saying it's just a tiny slope of 1/2" This is what I ask them to add at the end of the signed...

My contractor screwed up my new slab. Need Help please!

I was responding to the previous recommendations. That is out of question on my side so as the epoxy. Maybe self leveling cement but I'm afraid that thing will crack easily.

My contractor screwed up my new slab. Need Help please!

I measured two days ago with a laser and tape measure at interval closer to the drain. There is negligible slope at the perimeter as you can see in the picture with the storm water on my first post. It is more steep 6 feet around the drain. I put the averaged measurement on the plan but as you...

My contractor screwed up my new slab. Need Help please!

Thanks. The pipes are long enough except one but I can extended it. As for the drain, I guess they could extended it and put a new grill on it that fit. I am worried about the uneven new pour about the strength for the lift ... if the requirement is 4 inches thick, obviously I am not gonna get...

My contractor screwed up my new slab. Need Help please!

It's written near my signature as additional notes in bold in the contract: Flat and level concrete slab (no drainage slope) This is what we agree on the contract. What do you think is possible as the outcome? I mean I meet them tomorrow. I just want to know if pouring an slab over a slab...
