It's blown in celluose insulation. Not as itchy as fiberglass at least. I like the prefab idea. I'm having a brain wave: maybe I can prefab raised walkway sections, with some kind of end fixture that allows pieces to join not on a joist and be strong.

This might make the ebike motor in fan hub picture above make more sense. It's an interesting design, having a cast hub for the blades instead of bolting them directly to the motor as most ceiling fans do. It's sort of like a 3 piece wheel.
