Why do Scotchlocks have such a bad reputation?

Im probably in the minority but if I want to tap into a wire i will do it as a regular wire connection. I will cut it, strip the ends and insert an additional wire into one end of an uninsulated **** connector then crimp and used adhesive lined heat shrink. Ill add a 2nd larger piece of heat...

    Looking to buy a Lift

If you can get your hands on a used Rotary 10k lift, that will be your best bet in terms of quality other than Mohawk but those are pretty pricey. Call your local Rotary dealer and ask, they might have a few from old dealerships. They are pretty much the industry standard in dealerships so there...

    Replacing original air hose ends?

    Best, cheap bench drill press?

The biggest issue Ive had with smaller drill presses is the belts slipping when drilling through steel with larger bits. If your just drilling safety holes in hardware, any of those small presses should do if you have half decent cobalt bits. I personally like the HF ones because you can use it...

Resettable (like breaker) automotive fuse kit?

It just helps keep you from going through a bunch of fuses when chasing a stubborn/intermittent short. Nothing worse than running out of fuses mid diagnostic and having to leave and go get more

Compressed Air Lines - Pressure Loss

If it continues to drop then there is a leak. My compressor will drop a solid 7 psi if i fill it from empty to full and let the tank cool for a few hours but then remains steady at 128psi or so until use. If it constantly loses pressure after sitting for half a day then it has a leak and its not...

Two post lift & cuts in slab

You want to be at least 4"+ away from any cuts. That's what they told me when my lift was installed

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Id save that tank, a good condition tank that you know the history of is definitely worth hanging on to. You could use it as an auxiliary tank in a future setup. Air tanks of a decent size are not cheap to come by

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I finally got my back workbench set up and started organizing it. Also tried out some new paint for a set of table legs and I am in love with how the finish turned out. I used Hot Rod Flatz Chassis Black from TCP global and a basic urethane primer underneath.

    3/8 impacting air ratchets

I have one of the Harbor Freight impacting air ratchets, bought it about 8 years ago, ive used it maybe 6 times. I only bought it to save my knuckles from traditional air ratchets but I rarely even used those. My go to is a milwaukee 1/4" electric ratchet. I spin it up then drop it on the...

    Which cordless ratchet?

Not sure what your doing to your M12s but mine will last a solid 2 years or so until the head takes a **** and then I just take it to Home Depot and they swap it out on the spot. I haven't tried the other brands but figured you might wanna try the Home Depot route for convenience.

Need suggestions for transmission floor jacks

This is a thread about transmission jacks, specifically mentioning transmission scissor jacks. You started talking about a vehicle scissor jack and still did not mention that fact. Its pretty reasonable to see how somebody can get confused.

Need suggestions for transmission floor jacks

You are NOT suppose to use them as a replacement for a vehicle jack. On top of that you should have been using jack stands whenever you use a jack, no matter the objects weight and jacks rating. Sounds like your own recklessness that almost got you hurt/killed, not the equipment

    Areas 1/4" swivel ratchet

I have no experiences with Ares but I do have a Matco micro 1/4 ratchet that Ive put quite a lot of torque on without issue. Rarely use it but when I need it, nothing else will do. I see that they are pricey though Ratchet Link

I wouldn't say so conveniently. You could pop the head of it off but that's probably about it

Drinking water - how long is it safe to store?

A water dispenser where you are not coming in direct contact or opening it to the elements would last a few weeks id imagine. The biggest thing is not introducing any way of contamination. No different than the water cooler in our office and that jug gets changed every 2 months or so, never...

Need suggestions for transmission floor jacks

Ive used the Harbor Freight floor jack you mention. It worked well enough with the F250 transmissions in terms of it not killing me however I made a few modifications. The main one was I welded brackets to the bottom of the plate to hook a ratchet strap to so I could really crank it down into...

I'm almost scared to ask a lift question

As stated above, an ALI certification is plenty in terms of structural integrity. ALI certified means the structure can withstand 3x its lift capacity (among other things). If you not a professional who relies on a lift for a living, almost any other lift will do. If my lift goes down, it costs...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got my new Rotary SPO12 installed about 2 weeks ago. Been wrenching on this 69 firebird ever since. Replaced the ball joints, steering linkages, and started replacing the rear air shocks. I still have a laundry list of things to do but having it up in the air now is a huge help
