Thanks fist. That’s the original gold plated columbian collar trim/washer….. I had that same on on my original craftsman labeled columbian 506 series as well…. Very original piece and that was even in pristine condition. Almost adds a nice touch to it Bare metal is due to penetrol…. My new...

I always get nervous when people paint over the jaws. Dynamic looks a little too smooth at the top where it meets the jaws, but hoping it’s nothing. Nice trade Pat! My fav 6 inch vise

Here you go shift. Bottom peerless is in BLO. I feel like that BLO darkens a little more than the Penetrol… Penetrol seems to retain the naked look even more and truer to color of the casting

I have a new love for Penetrol. I found a perfect to me 203 1/2 Columbian combination on eBay. It was dirty and painted but this was the near mint beauty hiding under it. I sold my Reed 2C to downsize for a smaller combination vise. Im satisfied

Looks like a RI 95., can anyone confirm?. There appears to be no casting or ID marks anywhere. Maybe an early Rock Island? 5 inch jaws- got him down to $80…. Weighs about 78 lbs so just over a dollar per pound here

Caved in and bought the NS black metal oil for my massive Reed 206. Going to strip the paint and apply this coating- will reflect it’s uniqueness and age this way:
