Just received my 1/2" hydraulic hose that I was buying to use as a lead hose between my compressor tank and copper lines. When I looked at the threaded fitting, the outer diameter is .082", which is fine. But the inner diameter of the fitting is .375" Is this normal for hydraulic hose? Doesn't...

Thanks to everyone for the opinions. Ive decided to go with copper, partly because I have never done it before and it will be good to learn. I'll start with a small manifold I can afford to build and add to it if I have a problem with too much water in the final filter.

After reading a bunch of info on other threads I'd still like more opinions. I'm planing the plumbing for my compressor and looking at my options. I have never soldered copper tubing before and would like to know if this is a job suited for a virgin? Would this kit be adequate for the job...

I think it's all about the cfm, not psi, and I think the single stage model is probably a better compressor than the entry level 2 stage. Besides, I plan to regulate down to 90 psi for air tools anyways.

I actually considered that one first. The 2 cyl is rated at 19cfm @ 100 psi with motor rpm of 650, while the 3 cyl is rated at 14 cfm @ 100 psi with motor rpm of 850. That also means less start ups, and longer life. Don't forget, they are all available in verticle or horizontal, so the 80 gallon...

I've considered both those options as well. I was leaning towards the Eaton for the slower running motor, pump and noise factor. Then I started to consider the single stage Eaton. It is only $60 cheaper, so I started to wonder if it may be a better compressor, sort of their top of the line...

Problem is... my budget is really about $1000. Quincy starts about $1300, then I still need starter kit (for extra waranty), water trap, hose, da sander and 220volt wired into my garage. I'm willing to go a little over budget, but I can't go that far.
