Had my barn feeder and panel inspected and the inspector was packin a torque wrench. He checked the lugs and breakers for proper torque but never touched a wire nut one. He also told me I went overkill on the EMT in the barn, said Romex would have been fine?

Just wanted to say thanks again! Waited 2 weeks for the only electric inspector in my county office to show up. It has rained hard here for days, my trench was pretty much a river but I passed with flying colors yesterday.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll do a 12" box and 2" conduit up to the box. I am doing the 2-2-2-4 still, that's why I thought about going smaller on the box and conduit. Other than curb appeal... So on the free length of wire splice in the box, 300.14 states 6" from where it exits the conduit...

I know the answers are in the code book somewhere (or maybe not?) but I don't know whether to sh!t or go blind trying to find them. I have tried finding installation instructions/ guidelines for the junction boxes without any luck. Any help at all would be appreciated on this.

So I have the 2" conduit trenched in and was thinking about bushing down to 1-1/4" out of the top of the 90's at the house and barn. The only reason is to keep the junction box size down to an 8x8x4 on the side of the house, will this be an issue or should I stick with a 12x12x6 box? Also...

I am trenching in 2" pvc conduit, total of 200 feet with 2 45's in the mix to feed 2-2-2-4 use-2 aluminum in it. I plan to feed it with a 50 amp breaker to a 100 amp breaker in the barn...

Finally got out to the shop, here is what I used.

That drill press turned out very nice. Not to get off topic but.. I have wanted one of these since I used this one while doing some work in this shop. Something about the old iron I like.

I have a picture of a 4 drawer box that I think is identical to this one and it has the front door on it. I will post them up in the morning when I get home.

The paint is cherry red enamel from a spray bomb,will have to check on the brand. Thanks for the kind comments, it's not as nice as some on here but it does look and perform pretty good now. It was unusable before the bore repair.
