You are correct, the roof is standing seam. Apparently, this was the first time my builder had installed standing seam, so he had to figure a lot of things out as they went. It could just be my perception, but I feel like he kept adding extra cost to it because it took longer than he thought it...

That is exactly what I originally assumed the builder would use, but when I saw them putting up the same metal panels used on the siding, I inquired. That's when he said you don't need it, and that the ribs will pull air.
