California Air Tool - HORRIBLE Experience

So when I turn ON the air-comp, the solenoid closes the value. When I turn it off, the solenoid opens the valve. I can actually feel no air escaping while the motor is running. Turn it off, and the solenoid lets it open or opens it up somehow. I have no idea what's going on. I've unscrewed the...

California Air Tool - HORRIBLE Experience

I can't. Can barely get underneath their welded motor mount. Plus everything looks to be sealed with some type of locktite.

Yeah I know - I originally opted for the $10K Kaeser - but the CAT had a cuter color

California Air Tool - HORRIBLE Experience

Yeah other than the tank draining - I love it (eye roll). Seriously though, its nice and quiet and otherwise performs very well. I'm most upset about THEM not answering their own (advertised) tech support, warrenty support, EVEN "Sale" - nothing but a silly voicemail about how important my call...

Nothing yet. At the top of the compressor, there is a solenoid that closes a small hard line. That continues to stay open so after the tank fills, it's actually draining.

California Air Tool - HORRIBLE Experience

Hi - In OCT-2022 I bought a CA (California Air Tools) 60 gallon upright (CAT-60040CAD Ultra Quiet 60 Gal Compressor). It sat wrapped in it's shipping plastic wrap, unused until April-2024 while I had a shop being built. I fired it up for the first time and was impressed with its noise level...

    Plywood Ceiling - 24" OC

Thanks guys, appreciate the advice. I (may) go with 1/2 or stay with 5/8. Either way, I'll be using a hoist and it'll be a bit of a slo-go... But steady wins the race :)

    Plywood Ceiling - 24" OC

Hi Everyone. I'm new to the forum and wanted to say hello and mention my project. I'm doing normal framing of the walls in my pole barn (24'x50'). My ceiling joists are 24" OC and I wanted to use 5/8" CDX. The ceiling is simply just covering the bottom of the trusses and no weight will be above...
