H Channel on U Braces for Finishing Inside a Steel Tube Metal Garage

Thanks for these! The extra screws in your photos gave me an idea. I think I might “em-brace” the braces so to speak and add some extra screws/support to the steel tubes. I might also put another piece of u channel on the back of the braces to give them some more structure (and a flat surface to...

H Channel on U Braces for Finishing Inside a Steel Tube Metal Garage

Thank you for that. I was hoping to potentially run my MC Cable for my electric behind the braces so I don't have to drill through any of the structural tubing, and then I can do my drops between the tubing. But if that's not possible I can explore other options.

H Channel on U Braces for Finishing Inside a Steel Tube Metal Garage

Hey all. I'm getting ready to finish out the inside of my metal garage. It's a 40'x18' metal tube building. I'm planning to put H channel 24" OC to mount drywall/plywood too for the walls. Need Advice for Insulating/Cooling Metal Garage in FL

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up. I actually didn't know it was CCP I was buying from until later. Need Advice for Insulating/Cooling Metal Garage in FL

I probably should have asked these questions BEFORE I put down a deposit on the building. Oops. Perhaps I can at least get them to do a vapor barrier between the siding and the frame so that condensation doesn't form between the siding and the frame. Then I can install hats on the inside of the...

Need Advice for Insulating/Cooling Metal Garage in FL

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately, due to my property size/local ordinances, I’m unable to do a stick frame building (no permanent structures). I have to do a metal garage because my local jurisdiction defines them as “temporary structures.” I’ll definitely be getting rid of the double...

Need Advice for Insulating/Cooling Metal Garage in FL

Hi all, I’m trying to figure out if my plan for insulating and cooling my 20’x45’ metal garage is the right way to go. I’d like to try to avoid making a costly mistake with damage from moisture. I’m in Central Florida, and currently I’m planning on having the building manufacturer (Carolina...
