Here's the finished product after the oil and the waxing. I'm very happy with it! Thank you for all your collective ideas and advice. It was more of a labor of love. I hope he notices the difference 😆 The bumper sticker was just lightly cleaned up and is just sitting in the tray.

So no pics until I'm done...soon. I've decided to go with a penetrating oil. That did a nice job. I didn't touch the tray with it. I will let that sit for about a week or so and I have also decided to do a wax (not sure which brand....have nano wax on hand...think the kid took the Meguiers)...

I've been able to do a bit more work.... 1. I used a Rustoleum rust lifting gel on the bottom of the box. 2. I used a plastic bristle brush attachment on the foredom to clean up the corners and the 0000 steel wool on the rest. Results are in numbers 1. This is a before on the worst corner. 2...

I never took the simple green over the stickers. I did use Dawn on them though. I wrapped my finger in the simple green cloth to scrub the box around the stickers. I may go back to it tomorrow. I have 5 projects going...nothing like procrastinating until the last month and then trying to look...

As I mentioned it's done...not much more to say. I had a drop of it in a small bowl of water. I wiped everything down after. It is what it is now. I pulled no ink from the stickers....that I noticed. These stickers were so dirty....I'm sure that helped.

Update! So I started slow using the dawn and water. I'm talking a drop to maybe 2Tbsp of water. I used q-tips and went about my "Smithsonian" way. Then when I finish the stickers on one panel, I use a damp wrap just to wipe down the dust and grime off the box. Little side note....with...

In my experience the magic eraser removes paint so I'll stay away. It does work better wet though. These are old inks so they aren't as durable as today's prints. I'm going to go slow and I'll take some pictures of my results when I get started.
