I'm not a construction guy, but when We had our house built on the west coast of Florida, bottom is block/Stucco and second level is wood/vinyl siding, asked the builder and his statement was. If you do stucco over plywood, eventually you will have the stucco seperate from the wood. Do you...

2 Story 2 car Garage House?

We had this built in 2002, Had to due to Flood elevation on the coast. Do not plan on doing dusty/smelly work downstairs (painting, body work type with real fine dust. It will get upstairs and the other half will let you know. I'm fine with the stairs inbetween the garage doors, but going up...

    best AC for detatched shop

If you have a Sams club membership, I just purchased a GE 24000 btu ac unit for 424.00 on line only. Just put it in last week. I'm probably 45 minutes or so from you, get the humidity down and it helps a lot.

So much potential, I beam with trolley and 2-200 amp boxes? Really curious on what happened during the original owners time spent in the shop. You may get tired of the steps after a while (my house is above the garage) and after a while, try to consolidate the trips up and down. Keep posting...

What's your Garage to Living Space SQFT ratio?

For the married guys, I got a way around the garage bigger than the house argument, We built the house on top of the garage. Kind of like a modern Krass & Bernie type. Some day when I get the garage organized, I hope to do a garage thread.

    Does anyone really care?

Alway's like seeing somebody posting pictures of a build, you know how you picked up idea's, others will be doing the same from yours. For Hurricane season not supposed to be real active this year, it's off to a running start/ Be thankful it's only a tropical storm although up to 50mph.

Showed the wife the pic's of the garage, she said it's a beautiful house, told her it's the garage and she laughed and said forget it, you can't have one like that. I grew up in Indiana, Ft. So Can Your Floor Do This and Not Have Any Damage?

Relative new guy that reads a lot more than posting, I have a couple questions, Living on the coast in Florida in Hurricane territory, any issues if the tile would be submerged for a period of time? What is the purpose of a grout line, could you just **** joint the tiles to each other...

Starting a house search... garage feedback welcome

Hey, I am also new here, but will suggest if you are looking for a 3 car to try to go with 36' wide. In our previous house we built a 30x26, the depth was good with workbenches across the front, but if we opened doors on the vehicles it was tight. At that time it was a suburban, a gmc pick up...
