    I was just turning it over for the umpteenth time trying to figure it out when a bolt fell onto the floor. It must have somehow got caught in the mechanism as it was going down which stopped it part way. This errant piece is not part of the jack nor the car. The jack went all the way down...

    Not sure where to even start to strip it down. It is currently part way down and won't go the rest of the way down,, or back up either.

    Dad's yellow jack is the one I am most interested in getting sorted There is some sort of raised logo/trademark at the base of the handle where the U & D are for up & down However, I have no idea where it was made (I'll worry about the red one when I find the seal kit which is here somewhere)

    It won’t go up or down. Had to use the screw scissor jack to lift the car off the yellow jack so I could pull it out. I wouldn’t have guessed the yellow one was a generic Asian import. The red one is definitely Asian. :)
