    Wiring Help Needed

Thanks for all the advice and concern. Nice to know I made a good choice. Being USA made, helped with the decision. There was a similar unit out there that I alost bouight but it was China made. Actually more money at the time. I managed to catch a sale at Northern Tool, it was even cheaper the...

    Wiring Help Needed

Thank you for the advice and sorry for not providing enough info. Yes, this is a hanging type heater that will be mounted to the ceiling. The specs posted are correct. My plan was to only run the cable from the mount, thru the attic and down to my box in the basement. The electrician would do...

    Wiring Help Needed

I just bought a Fahrenheat 7500watt heater #HUH724SA. The instructions call for a min 10 g copper, 70 degree C, cable. So I go to Lowes and find the wall of cable. Never knew there were so many types of cable! Can anyone tell me what I would need? 3 wire? 4 wire? My plan is to only run the wire...

    The Ultimate Garage Lift

I had computer problems and had to rebuild a lot of my files. Just got GJ back up on my favorites and saw this! This is awesome news and solves a lot of issues I was having with building a new garage, which has been put off because of the issues. I think you will sell a bunch of these.

    Electric heat only-Ideas??

I just looked at the specs on the Dayton G37 and I can't find where its made. I am considering a Fahrenheat unit that is similar in spec, UL approved and made in the USA. Anyone have any experience with this unit? My garage is 20 x 20 and partially insulated.

Please show me your 1/18 and discast display..

You can get individual plastic display cases at hobby shops or Wal Mart. Sizes vary. Giovanni Plastics makes nice acrylic multiple car cases that are really nice and go well in garages. I do suggest you cover them. Bad things can happen in garages to little cars. BTW, I worked for GMP these past...

    Building a bench.

Here's my guy! 20 week old puppy. Even though he looks peaceful, one ear is alert. Our third boxer. My wife grew up with them. I agree, great personalities. If I have a bad day, he can make me laugh.

    Building a bench.

My bench is similar to toolman's, except messier in the pic. When the top gets beat up looking, I just pop out the screws and lay new masonite on it. The bench has to be about 15 years old. If I need to move it, it comes apart so it can be moved in sections easily. It's 8' x 2'. BTW, if...

    does Drylock actually work?

Just to add to my post previously, yes, I did also regrade the outside. The drylock did help in my situation but you really have to take care of the underlying problem.

    does Drylock actually work?

I've used something similar from Sears and it really worked well in my basement. You have to read the directions and make sure you cover the wall completely. In one or two spots, I missed a pinhole size crater and water would ooze during a heavy, heavy rainstorm when the ground became saturated...

What kinda lift do you have?

Carcentric...what kind of work have you been able to do with the LR-60? What can't you do with it? Like to know if I can pull a trans or do a clutch change. I'm building a new garage this summer and it will have a 10.5' ceiling. Looking for something that I can move around yet be versatile.

Anyone ever hear of this lift?

I've been quietly following the lift posts here for a while and I love the sp-7x install. I've also looked at all kinds of lifts, trying to decide what to get based on township rules, building specs and what I really want to do in the garage. Steve did email me back and the Nausbaum is a...

Anyone ever hear of this lift?

Thanks all...I just sent Steve an email. I'm working with a guy right now in designing the garage and this lift would solve a lot of my problems with the township, budget and wife. I had seen the thread regarding the Bend Pak and it was on the list along with their other low rise unit, LR60P. I...

Anyone ever hear of this lift?

It looks like it would fit my needs better than anything I've seen so far. It is portable (as much as a lift like this could be). Open in the center and raised height is fine for what I need. It's called a Nussbaum Sprinter Lift.

    Craftsman Screwdriver Question

I just returned 4 Phillips screwdrivers on Friday. They buggered up with only minimal effort. I used the right type and size and literally chipped the screw ends off. Sears took them back with no issue. I wound up taking the screw out with a 10 cent bit and a nutdriver. BTW the Craftsman screw...

    Just sayin' Hi!

Found this site while looking for garage plans a few months back. Worked in healthcare for almost 20 years and now design precision models. Stomach..oilpan, same difference. Always loved cars. I have a '69 Chevelle SS396 and the new garage will be for the toy and the upper level will have my...
