    New project, couple of questions

Hi All...resurrecting this thread as I have a couple more questions please: 1. Can I run additional wires (electrical, not data) along with the MHF in the SCH40 back to the main house? I have 2 inch conduit. This would be to control exterior lights on the garage from the house. 2. It appears...

    Still a little confused

Thanks Zeke.... Since the slab was poured its been mid 60's - low 70's during the day, high 40's - low 50's at night with lots of dew in the mornings.... and 2 days of rain. I think this fits your description of when the curing compound is not really needed. I'll conduct the moisture check...

    Still a little confused

After doing some more reading, I will sort of anwer my own question...I think. It appears that after 14 days I can't put anything on the slab that will really "help" the cure, so I will wait the 28 days and then apply a sealer. Is this correct?

    Still a little confused

Thanks for the replies all. Since I'm past the 7 day mark(11 and counting as of today), should I still go ahead with the application of the curing agent? I will leave that on until the 28 day mark and then apply an additional sealer product.

    Still a little confused

I have a new slab in place, 11 days old now. I've gotten some local advice, and have been reading thru the forum and I'm still not sure what to do. It has been suggested to me that I put on a cure-and seal product (Quikrete is the only product to purchase locally) as soon as possible. I don't...

    New project, couple of questions

The project is getting ready to start, so I would just like to confirm my process. (This is only for the electircal supply for the garage...not doing the generator hookup) - Mount a Jbox to the exterior of my house approx 2 feet above ground. I then run sch80 conduit out of the Jbox to a point...

    New project, couple of questions

Thanks pattenp...I forgot to add my location on previous post...I updated my profile now. I guess another option to make it less complicated would be to terminate cable 2 at the outside wall and put the outlet for generator plug there. Is the #2 aluminum wire you recommended here the same as...

    New project, couple of questions

thanks guys pattenp: i concur with your thoughts on the garage feed and will proceed along those lines...as long as they fit with the rest of this story. For the generator, I already use a backfeed through the dryer plug...I know it's not "right", but I'm the only one who hooks it up and I...

    New project, couple of questions

Thanks for the reply. Just wasn't sure about sending half my amperage out to the garage so to speak...but I guess if it's not being used out there it won't detract from what's available in the house...correct? As for the generator I take it this means that the 2nd wire out to the garage just...

    New project, couple of questions

Hi all....I'm finally going ahead with my project. Here are the specs: - detached garage, 26w x 28d - 2nd floor for storage/attic (i.e not finished space) - 200amp service in my house - cable runs from house will be short...~50 feet or less Electrical needs are pretty basic: 2 garage door...
