I placed the lift post about 3.5' off of the wall. With the vehicle on the lift, that gives me about 4.5' from the vehicle's tire to the wall. That gives me the right amount of room to pull an axle shaft, if need be. The longest an axle shaft will ever be is 4 feet, so I'm in the clear. But...

Nice obeservation! Though, the majority of the vehicles that will be lifted are trucks and Jeeps. I think the hangers and door are so close to the ceiling that I shouldn't have any problems if the door is up. If I were to put a larger SUV (like a Suburban) on the lift, I would definitely keep...

Ceiling height was 12'-6" at the bottom of the trusses. After the metal siding was installed, it was decreased to about 12'-4". Just enough space for the lift to fit.:thumbup: Height on the lift was 145" (12'-1")
