    No Evaporust for you!!!

+1 It works. I've used it. 1 part Molasses to 7 parts water. No risk of corroding or etching the part as with Coke, Vinegar, or any type of acid. Molasses and evaporust are both chelating agents (google / wikipedia is your friend)

Are stainless-steel tools as strong as chrome vanadium-steel ones?

If it is a 300 series stainless, then you would be correct, but there are MANY grades of stainless steel which are stronger, stiffer, and more wear resistant than Chrome-Vanadium Steel.

Are stainless-steel tools as strong as chrome vanadium-steel ones?

Depends on what type of stainless. This is like asking if a red car is faster than a blue car.

Drill Press without a Drill Press?

You can also "make" a guide. use your drill press to drill a hole in a thick piece of steel or even a 2x4 and then use that hole as a guide for drilling into the plywood. If using a 2x4 you could even put a bushing or some tube etc if the hole to reduce the wear.

    Does anyone have these dead-blows?

That *****! The two House of Tools locations in Edmonton never seemed to have any Impact hammers in stock! (just the same 14 oz hammer for what seemed like forever) - or maybe they were constantly "soldout"? I had to complete my collection by going to one of the industrial supply houses!
