Your ceiling is too low. How do you fit 103" of car height in a 100" ceiling? And that's without clearance for the runways, garage door and just clearance in general as lifts have to be raised slightly before lowered.

Which ever side is safer, meaning which ever gives you more room to get out of the way. If the lift is close to a wall always put the controls on the opposite side. Never position yourself between the car and a fixed object. Squishy squish.

You're only 10" off. You could always run a diagonal 4x4 from the current 4x4 post to the stringers. And probably shorten that 103" even. Wouldn't hurt you floor space either.

Hope your not using a regular hammer drill. Use the bigger spline type rotary hammers for a quicker, cleaner hole. The anchors will hold better. Go all the way through with the hole. Some guys use epoxy on the anchors as well.
