    Just Dried: Sherwin Williams H&C

60 days cure time on fresh concrete. No other coatings besides the initial acid etch. There's a ton of different colors. I'd recommend a darker one rather than a lighter one like I went with.

    Just Dried: Sherwin Williams H&C

UPDATE So I've been in the garage for a few weeks now doing all kinds of stuff. Here are my observations... - Despite no grit additive and a power trowled floor, it's not nearly as slippery when it gets wet as it looks like it could be. - Holds up well to oil drips. But gasoline and brake...

    Just Dried: Sherwin Williams H&C

Here's some quick snaps of the containers if that helps anybody. Also, I had it stuck in my head that this was a Sherwin Willams product and I don't think that it is. I changed the thread subject line.

Yes, I believe it to be the same infusion stuff. I should also mention this covers real nice. Two 5 gallon drums was enough to put 2 medium coats on 1200 sq. ft. and there's a good 2 gallons left over. I'm not going to baby it- I just wanted to put some sort of protection on it while it was...

    Just Dried: Sherwin Williams H&C

No, it's solvent based as far as I read in the documentation. This stuff is very noxious and is dry to the touch within an hour or so (supposed to cure for 72 hours before heavy traffic). It's not super slick nor chalky. I'd say it's an eggshell/matte type gloss. To be honest, my painter...

    Temorary walls

This month's auto restorer mag has an awesome article on how a guy built a temporary crossflow paint booth using PVC pipe, forced air filters, a decent power attic fan, and plastic sheeting. He designed it in 10' sections so he could modify the size to suit whatever he was painting. Pretty cool...

There's a lot of plans floating around on making your own bottle jack style one. Of course, the price of raw materials it might be worth looking at HF.

    Alternative sources for benchtops

I just visited a really cool place this weekend... It's a shop that builds race cars and works on cars. But the coolest part is they're government funded and take in "at risk" teenagers to teach them how to weld and do body work. ANYWAY  , whilst I was touring the facility they had a...

    Series of Questions

I figure if I squeezed everything in and gave up my workspace- I could fit 4 small and medium sized cars in my 20x30 garage. So you should be able to do at least do the same. As far as fitting two cars through the door, it is highly unlikely you'll ever need them both in the door at the same...

Aluminum Car Ports - Install it yourself

Sorry, Pops ordered the carport so I'm not sure of the manufacturer. But there's an older Leonard one on the same property this one was on and they were assembled pretty much the same way. Everything slips over each other and you cinch it down with the sheet metal screws. It's like a big tinker...

Aluminum Car Ports - Install it yourself

I put together a 2 car aluminum car port (7ft. high side poles and 20ft. long) for the old man today. I've never done it before and there were no instructions. It was a piece of cake! You just need a drill with the right chuck in it for the sheet metal screws. Use rubber washer self tapping...

    new member with questions

Careful with wooden gates/doors. Those things get heavy really quick and can sag. You may want to consider putting casters on the ends to hold them up and make opening them easier. If you don't want a 4+ inch gap on the bottom, you can put them on the backside of the door.

    Oil-less vs. oiled air compressor

I have the 33 gal 6HP Craftsman (seems like a lot of people do). It is oil-less and single stage. It is also VERY LOUD. The oiled 2 stage jobbies are usually bigger, quieter and provide much more CFM. They're also usually 220V. I like my compressor fine. It keeps up with the usual tools- but...

    Garage Size

The loopholes are important! For me, the restrictions loosen/tighten depending on if it shares a roofline with the house- which could easily be a covered breezeway. But my building is so much taller than the house, it would be too goofy. Also, someone mentioned seperate structures and that's a...

HVAC guys... furnace wont stay lit?!?!?! HELP

Since the element seems to be heating up, my guess is the little temp sensor probe that double checks the flame was lit. If it doesn't detect sufficient heat, it will shut off the gas to be safe. Of course, I'm no HVAC expert- I just had an experience with an ignitor element go bad on my gas...
