Plumbing never goes to plan. Case in point. Went to change shower head. Galvanized pipe. Joint broke. Inside thread wrench failed. Ended up cutting hole in closet wall. Removed pipes down to diverter/main valves.

And if so, move the inserted ends closer. Perhaps it got bent and happens to fit holes 1 and 3. Rather it should fit holes 1 and 2.

I’m over an hour round trip from a Home Depot or Lowes. Repairs usually nights or weekends. I’ve been establishing my own mini hardware store. Nothing ***** the life out of a project like stopping and driving 35 miles on way to a decent hardware store that might or might not be open.

Concur with black iron. Dad had a professional paint shop (compound bows-metal flake) his shop had copper which I was able to salvage but he and I had the discussion and he said galvanized was prone to fisheye paints.

I’d find something other than bleach. But it’s probably cheapest if algae involved. I’d try Dawn. Then diluted bleach if needed.
