kitchen outlets not working, checked the obvious...

Hi, I know this is so basic for most of you guys, but I am stumped. Fifteen year old home, good construction, no issues at all. I have a small eat-in area on the side of the kitchen. two outlets. Both are suddenly dead. Checked breaker: it's fine. Neither outlet is a ground fault type, but I...

    Outside outlet gone bad?

You guys are good. I found a gfci in the garage that I never paid any attention too, it had tripped. Not sure why, but it did. Lights are working, sun is setting. I never would've checked in there, thanks to you all for your help.

    Outside outlet gone bad?

Now I'm really stumped. I went to the hardware store, picked up an outlet, just came back, shut off all the breakers, put in the new outlet, flipped all the breakers back on: same thing, no power at all to that outlet. Everything else in the house is working fine. Everything.

    Outside outlet gone bad?

Ok, I'm stumped. I have Christmas lights plugged into an external outlet, in front of the house. I have one of those external remote control plugs going into the outlet. And then I have the Christmas lights running into the remote control unit. Works real nice, we can turn the lights on and...

    McMaster - Carr

Dating myself a bit, I have used them for hard to find items way before the internet, you called up and spoke to a real person, confirmed part number, pricing, etc. Thirty years of transactions. Flawless performance in all those years. Great company.

    Groundhog problem

Speaking of have-a-heart traps.. I had this issue two years ago. I have a neighbor that encourages them to live under his foundation, shed, etc. That's another story. When I put a lot of work into my garden, only to have it stripped clean, I looked for solutions. Having two daughters, I put...

Storing long extension cords: any ideas?

I have to admit, I thought this was kind of a silly question. Now I'm really glad I posted the question, thanks again.

Let's hear your customer service horror stories

Earlier this year, I was shopping for a lawn tractor and went to one of the large box stores. They had the green ones for a nice price. Right down the street is a dealer for the green ones and I thought "I'd rather buy direct, this thing will need service some day" I called the dealer, spoke to...

Storing long extension cords: any ideas?

Hi, I was trying to get the garage in order yesterday, taking advantage of the relative "warmth" and putting away outside Christmas lights, etc. I have a lot of those orange "outside" extension cords that I was using to run Christmas lights. I start wrapping these things up using the standard...

dealer vs big box company? (lawn tractor)

Great comments here, and I appreciate it. Couple of you guys nailed it: transmissions you can't service. That's what got me into this on my Husky, it's 13-14 years old, runs great, transmission is failing. Now that I have calmed down, I'm going to shop elsewhere. Great place here, thanks for...
