    Carpet Tiles

I'm currently finishing the interior of my new 24x24 shop. It will be primarily used as a hobby wood working shop. I got enough carpet floor tiles from work for free to cover the entire shop. This is low ply carpet, commercial grade. I was thinking it would be good to install because it will...

    Radio Shack Lista cabinets?

North Dakota. I have found that the listed price doesn't mean much. Make an offer. My store had them listed at $300. Talked to the manager and he said they were actually going for $175, they just didn't change the signs. I told him for that price I would have to think about it. I started...

    Radio Shack Lista cabinets?

Timing is everything on these. I just committed to 6 at $80/piece. Have potentially 8 more available at the store near me.

Is this up to code / done by professional installer

Looked at the instructions again. Thought it was specifying a 1 foot horizontal run cause I saw the 5' vertical minimum, but after rereading, looks like your right. Thanks, saves me some trouble.

Is this up to code / done by professional installer

Besides the other stuff, I would take a closer look at the exhaust vent for the heater. My beacon Morris 75k instructions say that the vent needs to go out a foot horizontal before going vertical.

Placement of Service Panel Next to window

Contactors for switching 240v on/off for air compressor and dust collector. I wanted to be able to ensure power was off to them. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk

GFCI required for garage door/swamp cooler

Never mind, bad info. I was thinking tamper resistant plugs for some reason. + my brother in law (journeyman electrician) told me over 5.5' didn't need GFCI. Gonna have to btch him out for that one. Guess it's off to the garage to add a few more GFCI's as my inspection is on Monday.

Pic of the panel where I originally planned it. Will try to get a better pic tonight. My job keeps getting in the way of completing my garage.

Placement of Service Panel Next to window

Thanks guys. @Charles- Thanks for those pics, I've never seen pics like that, I only read the code book. I didn't realize it could be anywhere in the 30". I thought it was 30" from each side of the panel. @rsanter- If I move the other, I thought it would be to close to the side wall. Now...

Placement of Service Panel Next to window

Hi all, Finally building my dream garage. :rocker: All the walls are up, waiting on some special order siding trim and then the outside is done. Will have to get pictures up on here as I have been spending a lot of time researching on garage journal, and drooling... While I'm waiting, I...

How far can plywood span unsupported?

I always build my benches like walls. Frame around outside and studs 16-24" o.c. to support the middle of the bench. Never had a problem. Overkill? Ya-probably, but like I said, never had a problem.

    Garage shelves from ceiling

Why over complicate it? I just attached the frame to the wall studs using lags and then used heavy chain and a couple eyebolts in the rafters to attach the front.

GJ Giveaway: 10 Gearwrench 120XP ratchets!

I recently bought a Kobalt set on Black Friday. What a disappointment the ratchet was. Kobalt advertise that they have more teeth than other ratchets. While that may be true, there is so much slop in the gears that the number of teeth doesn't matter. I sure would like to have a Gearwrench...
