I'm really interested in your project. I'm tempted to make a service station my retire home since that's where I'll be spending most of my time. Good luck!

My SWAG finger brake just came in yesterday and I picked up the HF shop press this morning. I would be interested in seeing what you guys have made with it.

    WTB Machinist tools

I've started to get into machining and need to pick up my own tools instead of borrowing them from a friend. I've looked around on Ebay but it's hard to know if the tools are good or not or they want you to buy a big box of junk with the micrometer set that you want. I could buy all new tools...

Pocket knives: Who uses an automatic as an EDC?

I've had my Benchmade Stryker 9101 auto for 5 years now. It's on it's second tour of duty and I've never had it fail on me. I clean it out every once in awhile and had it tuned and sharpened by the factory before I came over to Afghanistan. It's very handy when you're trying to do things with...

    Show us your vintage toolboards

Great, something else for me to look for. I really like the P&C one for the adjustable wrenches. I'll have to keep an eye out for those. Great pics!

    Does anyone else miss...

I have my grandfather's SK socket set that came in a metal case. I hope to pass it down to my daughter. It does give it a nostalgic look.

A daughter taking after her old man

Since I'm now deployed and sitting in Afghanistan I don't have any pictures to update the thread, just a few comments. I bought a pink ratcheting screwdriver after my wife made a comment about needing some tools in the house instead of going out in the garage and hunting through mine. The...

    Today’s Wiss Yard Sale Find

It's a tool used for cutting in the middle of a pipe. Drill a couple of starter holes then start cutting. It saves you from taking the pipe apart or cutting down it. Useful tool for a tin knocker.

1927 REO coupe followed me home today

I think after I finish up the two motorcycles that I've been working on I might try to find something like this. I've always loved the look.

Who carries a leatherman multi tool?

The Army issues Gerbers to the Soldiers. I've had good luck with mine. Very quick and easy to deploy the pliers with a snap of the wrist. I don't use mine daily but it has come in very handy.

    My new box!

That's why I keep my shop neat but not too neat. She doesn't notice it when I slip a new tool into the pile that's on the workbench. I also use the trick of rearranging my tools every once in awhile to add to the confusion of how many tools I own.

    new pocket knife time

I'm a big Benchmade fan. I own several of them and put them to good use. I've used them for work and also in the kitchen. Great quality, they'll sharpen and tune them for you, and they look good. They're a bit expensive but I think that they're worth it. Hardest part is choosing which one...

    Keeping baby out of garage?

Mine is 4 and she loves to hang out with me when I'm in the workshop. It takes time to let them know what they can and can't touch. She knows not to go out there without me but I still don't leave anything plugged when I'm not out there. I try to keep the floor cleaned and insist on shoes but...
