Lithonia Comercial Troffers - OK at home?

Yeah, the MVOLT versions are OK with 110 and 220. Ceiling is nearly 10 feet. Sheetrock with room above. Nothing special about construction. Fixtures are New. Multi voltage ballasts, will work with 120 or 277 (MVOLT). I know they are generally made to fit in a drop ceiling but I believe they...

Lithonia Comercial Troffers - OK at home?

Hello everyone. I'm looking for a little advice from someone who has experience with troffers. I have the possibility to get some 1x4 troffers at a good price but am unsure of a couple things: 1. I have living space above the garage so need to know what the requirements for insulation near...

Another Loft or Garage Shelf Question

The plywood storage is a pain. Considering I don't do projects with it much at this point, I'll just put it at the bottom and unload the other wood when I need it.

Another Loft or Garage Shelf Question

Thanks shannonw. The dimensions are actually more like 4'3" x 5' primarily so if I need to I can put a full 4x8 sheet of plywood or other material up there. I did consider the ceiling storage that you linked but they are a little small for what I want. I'm breaking it into 2 shelves so that I...

Inspiration for the ASYLUM - My parents, the DIY maniacs

No problem, I haven't had the time to get to the garage yet and those pics help quite a bit. Regarding the weight on the fold-up, I was thinking along those lines, but was planning on putting 2 fold down legs attached to the 2 corners. Cheers, Karl

Inspiration for the ASYLUM - My parents, the DIY maniacs

Sounds good thanks. I've got some ideas of how to make it work for me but wanted to see what else is out there. I'll post my plans when I get closer and have thought through what I plan to do. The biggest uncertainty for me right now is exactly how to handle the bench tops.

Hey Shopnut, Thanks for the great picture of this. Do you have any plans for the workbench? I was planning to do something with the lower cabinets I have but this would be perfect. Cheers, Karl

    Finally started my garage project.

Looking great, been watching for a while. I'm looking at lights for my garage upgrade right now and saw yours in a post over in the lights section too. What type of lights did you use in the ceiling? Looks like 2-4' bulbs in each recessed fixture but wondering where you got them. Cheers, Karl.

My Garage Update Plans - Comments/Suggestions Welcome

I haven't measured exactly yet, but my educated guess would be 2-3 feet with the Passat parked on that side. Not much room with the car's in there, but should work OK and I'll just move the car out when I need more space.
