FS: Baldor 333B 3/4hp buffer and Baldor stand

Selling a very nice Baldor 333B buffer on Baldor stand. Bought it at an estate sale, appears absolutely unused with wheels that have never seen any compound. $450, can ship but obviously will be expensive. Awesome machine, very smooth, combo goes for $1000 retail. Shoot me a PM for pics...

Recommend me a professional grade chainsaw

I bought a Husqvarna 562XP in January, and recently sold it. I don't know about these "autotune" saws, it was weak sauce, no lowend balls at all. It was finicky on hot starts too, had to hold the throttle partially open. I love my Stihl 460, handled about as well, tons more torque, really...

    Recommend a corner vise

OK, I was hoping that was a good option as it's quite a bit cheaper, and I'd heard good things about SH

    Recommend a corner vise

Looking for a good quality corner vise. Budget isn't the main concern, but this will be just for hobby use so it doesn't need to be industrial quality. I'd be welding up to 3" at the very most and that would be extremely rare. Couple options...

    Best Flour Jack

Another vote for Hein Werner 93642. They're as low as $240 right now. I've had mine six years and love it, still works as smooth as new, lets the vehicle down with full control. Pumps consistently, very good casters/wheels as well. By far the best jack I've owned.

Protecting tools after rust removal/media blasting

I have some very crusty old wrenches that I want to clean up, can easily media blast them or could use electrolysis to clean them up. My question is what can I do to keep them rust free after they're cleaned? Obviously can't paint something like this as it won't hold up, any options?

    HF air saw

Similar experience here, mine will just "stall" even without being in a cut. You have to bump the blade to get the piston to turn over, then it'll cut for a bit but stalls frequently. Royal pain in the ***. This is definitely one of those deals where you should go for a more quality unit.

    High Flow Air fittings Compressor

As stated, get a Milton V style from Northern Tool. I just switched mine over, difference was pretty dramatic, my IR "Thunder Gun" impact now requires ear protection. Bonus is they won't work with common fittings so your buddies won't ask to borrow your air tools. Another benefit, the Miltons...

MAC TL300 Adjustable Advance Timing Light

Selling a nice MAC TL300 adjustable advance timing light. Comes with factory case and instruction manual. It's in nice shape and works perfectly, there's a little burn on the inductive clamp but doesn't effect use. Nice to be able to dial in advance and not have to rely on timing marks, and...

Just How Useful is a Cordless Ratchet?

Use my M12 3/8" ratchet all the time, as others have said it saves a ton of time. I break bolts loose with it and haven't had an issue yet. I'm not talking heavier suspension type bolts, I'd have my 3/8" impact out for those anyway

Huge vices- are they worth more or less?

They're definitely worth more. There may be some sweet spot where the relative value of a vise is more/less (say $$ per pound or inch of jaw width) but can speak from experience that a 6" vise (all things being equal) is going to be worth more than a 4".

Opinions on newbie weld on Chevy S-10 crossmember

Ditto to all of the above, I have the same machine and from my experience I'd run .030", with about 6 on voltage, 65ish wire speed. One of the posts hit it on the head, make sure you're seeing the base metal melt with the pool as you go, generally means you have the heat high enough and will...

Stuck Bolts: Anyone think PB, Kroil, ATF/Acetone are all useless?

I'd tried all the common rust penetrator oils, but kept hearing about Kroil here and decided to try it. I'm now a firm believer, tore down a '73 Land Rover recently that was rusty as hell, some of the little 1/4-5/16" bolts that managed to come out without breaking convinced me. Some didn't...
