    Milwaukee Power Tools Deal Permathread

I was lucky enough to get the die grinder. I also got the deep cut bandsaw for $197 by doing the hack with an impact driver. I haven't seen the deep cut that cheap before. I just looked and that deal is still available.

HF tool box height off ground with and without casters?

I have 3 of the 44" boxes that I bought within 2 months of each other. One of them is a different height than the other two. So even going to HF and just measuring them may not work if you are trying to get down to the 1/16th--unless you measure and then buy the floor model.

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

My ITT membership actually ended last week just before I got that coupon. Maybe that was their way of trying to convince me to renew?

I used the one I received in my email. The code at the bottom of the one posted is different than the one I received in my email. So it might really be a single use coupon.

What is the advantage of a step drill bit?

I needed a few washers for a project last week, and everyone I had in the garage were to small. A step bit later and I was in business. Quick and clean hole. Also, I used to do a lot of car stereo stuff, and when you are cutting a hole through a firewall for a big power wire (1/0 type stuff...

Unless you order something that isn't in stock, they don't call you ever. So what I've done in the past (until I ordered a toolbox) was take my cell phone number and add one digit to the last number. I actually do that for all stores/websites/whatever. Makes it easy to remember for receipt...

    Ceiling speakers for shop

I have a 24x24x12(ceiling height) garage. I have 4 8" in-ceiling speakers. They are run off a home receiver that is rated at 70 watts (20hz-20khz) per channel. Even when I have it very loud, I don't have the volume very far up. I'm not getting close to using all 70 watts. There are a lot...

^I just did that order. It wouldn't work during checkout, so I opened a chat. Took a few minutes but the customer service representative gave me a choice of him checking me out as a guest and hi m manually adjusting the price, or me completely the order and him crediting me back the full...

That Maxtool gift code works with other purchases. I used it for the Milwaukee 18ga brad nailer, getting the price down $254 (in the cart, haven't paid yet). Has anyone seen that brad nailer cheaper anywhere? (tool only). Thanks

    CoverShield U140 semi Gloss

^Did you spray the floor and then use the roller to smooth it out, or did you just use a roller to put the product down like paint? I'm starting on mine tomorrow.

Apparently the price increase is a website issue, and not a real price increase.

Does anyone know what happened to the prices of the US General toolboxes? The 44" went from $499 to $699. The 72" is now $1999. Is this a temporary thing? Or is this their way of pushing people to the Icon brand...

Why run 12/2 from one room then 14/2 from another

There are numerous 20 amp receptacles in the garage. At least 4 per wall--all 20 amp. Inspector was weird. I had the lights up (no wiring inside the lights, no bulbs) so that the wire would be ran to the right location. There are 12 4' lights. He asked if I would be drywalling the...

Why run 12/2 from one room then 14/2 from another

I hope it's ok, but I want to ride the coattails on something in this thread. I have a Leviton media cabinet that is about 2 feet from my garage subpanel. I wired a 15 GFCI for the media cabinet with 14/2 wire. It has a dedicated 15 amp breaker. The inspector made us change out the 14/2 wire...

    Homeowner electrical work license

Are they currently allowing homeowner's to take tests? In Memphis, it is a similar system, but currently they are not allowing any homeowner to take tests. So it leaves you with the option of paying an electrician or doing it without the permit.
