I like mine and I posted pictures of it in the other link, it is a great and I did take it apart and it does have 60 teeth as well.

Havn't used mine much yet besides just playing with it. Its an awesome gadget though for when the need arises. I have the set packaged with a bunch of bits, its a work of art.

I have it and really like it, although I admit I haven't used it much. I want to set up a custom bit set to keep with it, but am still trying to get that all figured out.

I would look at the Vim set too. The Vim set offers the advantage of a slightly longer handle and can also be used with 5/16 bits in addition to 1/4 bits.

I have the Wera bit ratchet and it is a finely German overengineered tool made in the Czech Republic. It is a little bulky for its 3 3/8 inch length though. I think the neatest thing about the bit racthet is the storage case the larger set comes in.
Sunex also makes their own bitratchet that may be worth considering too.

I'd like to see one side by side with the GearWrench version, memory has them looking very similar, and GW is $25/set.

what GW set?

Needing to replace the Cman one that had begun to seperate i ended up buying the wera bit ratchet. The size surprised me especially after paying nearly $40, i expected something larger but its probably just shy of 3" long and must admit i actually felt a bit cheated. Its solid though, i've cranked down on it and never had a problem.

If i did it over again i'd probably buy the entire bit-check set to get more value out of it. Sears sells it [believe it or not!] and it will get discounted occasionally, with coupons it would run about $55 + shipping. The additional bits and adapters + the case would of made the extra cash worth it i think. I guess if you already had a huge stock of bits then it would be a waste.

Still its a very very nice bit ratchet, but for what it costs it better be. For comparison Craftsman sells three bit wrenches together as a set [2 angled] for $20 which are usually on sale for $15-$18.

The problem with the Craftsman versions are that after constant use the 2 metal support plates that hold the gear in place will seperate causing the mechanism to reverse under load. Annoyed the hell out of me. For home use they'd be fine though.

Ok, Wera on the left, Husky (aka Blackhawk/Vim) in the middle, Gearwrench on the right.

What is the Wera part number for this set? I get a decent discount with MSC through my company and trying to see if they carry it.

I am not sure what the part number is besides what is on chads site, also you can use the discount code and should be able to get 20% off of it.

It's got that gorgeous cold forged handle, but it's the same basic mechanism as all the other bit ratchets. They're all from Hi-Five, Taiwan.
