I was wondering what are some of the most sought after Snap-On collectables. You can mention tools (we all know how rare the clear ratcheting screwdrivers are) but I am wondering more along the lines of promo pieces.

I have the boom box from.around 1990. A dartboards thats wall mounted that looks like a tool box. A variety of mugs belt buckles pens an over nightbag, pokerchip n cards In a small toolbox. Various decks of cards, old calendars, etc. All circa 1980- 2000's... my uncle sold snap on for 35 years or so.

I've often wordeted if any of that is worth serious money n worth selling to buy something I can actually use... like more tools :)

Most collectables right now are still in the tank with this economy. A few years ago I ebayed myself to South Africa to hunt and visit friends. It is taking me twice as long now. For collectables, I wonder about the little garages that go with their promo cars.

I don't think clear handle ratcheting screwdrivers are that rare. I had one..sold it here for like $50. Didn't seem to be a real hot item.

I had a snap on hennessy hammock, that was pretty cool. I also really appreciated the socket shaped tumbler glasses, all mine broke while being enjoyed properly.

can you elaborate on the rareness of the 1943 for those of us who don't know anything about collecting S-O?

I think it would be the 1920 set of tools. The selling price would be quite high, at least 2000. The 1943 rat, 43 date codes are very rare.

Etrl 1920 Ford Runabout Snap-On 75th anniversary model. Its actually a coin bank. Bought it at the Flea Market for about $10. Probably too much, but I liked it. Carefully washed it and removed the plastic top and cleaned it good to get the finger smudges off, looks like new.

i have a variety of obscure items.

one of which is a pair of snap on headphones. the receiver is poor but they do work and are comfy to wear.

snap on wall poster with the mice ( i have 2 of these)

a couple of 1980's hats that i have not seen a duplicate of after looking on ebay for years.

snap on shotgun shell pocket knife (lost somewhere in the garage)

that is correct and in fact the boombox i have... not mine as its not my picture but the same model. i know it works, not sure how well as ive had it out on a shelf in my woodshop (covered ofcourse) for a while now and im out of town on business for a bit so cant check for a while but i know it worked quite well when it was last on. kind of a cool looking accessory for a smaller shop or garage where the volume would be loud enough to be heard.

I have a co-worker who used to be a SO dealer. He traded a new inline ratchet adapter for one of the early "ratchet adapters". The No. 6 coarse tooth adapter (the one he has) apparently was made from about 1920 to 1923 and was the first patent ever issued to SO.

Pic is from Alloy Artifacts, the one my friend has is identical to this one, not one of the slightly later designs.

Not sure what it might be worth, he would not sell it anyhow.

I've got one of those ratchet adapters too. Neat little item to play with.

Don't see these too often, but I don't think they are particularly rare. If the price was rising, they'd come out of the woodwork.
