Hi guys, thought I would add my small two car to your site. I say two car because in a pinch you can fit two cars in it, but good luck getting out of the door without dinging it up! So it usually only holds the wifes car but I can switch them out for my 72 Nova when its time to work. Im not a pro mechanic so Craftsman works fine for me and this is a rental so I didnt take too much time on the bench. Here are some pics!
This is in its current state today...

As it began!

My make shift saw table...haha big rocks make for good 'helpers' to hold things for you!

Now after after it was finished and collected a few tools here and there...

This is the other side with the washer and dryer. I didnt include the small cuttout where the washer and dryer are in my over all size in the title.

Lookin out...

With just the nova in, plenty of working room alone!

And my latest addition, which I put in the general discussion forum. Its a extended drain with a ball valve for much better access to drain the compressor!

Thats about it for now. I hope that you can use this as an example of what a rental can be or how tight a 18 wide by 20 deep garage can be. But I wont compain because alot of people dont have garages at all! So Im lucky! Take care!

Nice sir, I like what you've done with the space you have. Also like the bench, such simple construction... I need to make a few benches, my two benches are far too low - electronics assembly bench and a large one that the previous renter made.. No bueno for what we do!

Good to see another member from Arkansas; what part of the state? Magnolia here.

Garage looks good. Nice organization and good use of space. Everything is a manageable size when you move from this rental

Good work. Your landlord is lucky to have you.

I really like the satin black finish on the Nova.

Looks like you are making good use of your space. Love the Nova!

How did you get sequential plates on the cars like that?

Thaks guys, its good to hear all of your feed back.

ar2stp48: Im from Fayetteville origionally but Im in southern california now but I still
have plates in arkansas so I dont have to smog the mustang:)

Jack Olsen, thanks the flat black is a favorite of mine.

Mmfh:I was changing all my plates to arkansas instead of california (way cheaper and no smog) and got all 3 of my vehicles sequential. Kinda cool that they gave them to me like that though.

Thanks for the input guys, Ive been watching alot of builds on here for a while and figured I should post too!

I have 2 two-car garages. One of them is snugger than the other due to tons of sliding door storage cabinets. If you drive the vehicle on the right side in head first, and keep it snug on the passenger side, then back the one on the left in...again keeping it snug on the passenger side, that should give you maximum room.

How big are the garages?

I just bought a new house. It was advertised as having a 2 car garage and it looked about the same size as most new constructions. So amidst all of the chaos, I neglected to measure how wide the garage is. But now that I've finally gotten a chance to measure it, it's only 17'3" wide. I'd really like to add a 2nd car to the stable, which is one of the big reasons for buying a house - so I can get a 2 car garage. Now I'm worried that I've made a huge mistake and the 2nd car won't fit. This thread has given me a ray of hope!

Lots to like in that garage. Love the passion you have even for a rental. When you get your own place it will be even that much better.
